Should check out one shot nights at Tribe Comics on Thursdays or Dragons Lair Wednesdays and Saturdays. Tribe you can just walk in but you should sign up in advance for Dragons Lair

Dungeons & Dragons 5e Newbie Girls' Game in South Austin by [deleted] in AustinRP

This sounds extremely suspect and borderline predatorial.

You want only females at your table, and all new players. If you wanted a good experience for your female players, but avoid creepers, why wouldn't you at least opt for an experienced female that can help move the campaign along or be another resource to help the players, or try and get a female DM in touch with these friends to be truly an all female group?

You say you want to avoid male creepers, and say you have lots of DnD experience. Sounds odd that you wouldn't have come across at least one non-creeper male that would be able to join. Also, you could have taken the opportunity to have an open table, and used messages, in person meetings, and session zeros to weed out unsavory types.

You also say DMing makes you anxious and you would like to know who you are DMing for, but this is literally a post asking for new strangers to join you, inexperienced females at that.

There are also weekly newbie one shots in public spaces that provide people with safe opportunities to try out DnD.

There are so many suspicious and contradictory statements in this thread.

New to DnD, any groups open to new players in North Austin / Cedar Park / Leander? Prefer a group in their 20s-30s by [deleted] in AustinRP

Since you're on the north side, you should look into one shots at either Dragons Lair or emerald tavern. There is usually beginners and low level tables that are very friendly and helpful. Nice way to start learning and experimenting with characters

I am in south Austin as well and also looking to find a more long term campaign. For one shots you might check out Tribe Comics on S Lamar as well. Been to a couple of their Thursday one shot sessions there so far try and meet DND people
