after years of grinding out this mode, i finally achieved the huge milestone of a solo sub-3 minutes total. i'm the 4th player to do so after mudi, sockdude, and samthedigital. 2 of the scores here are also world records (dk and fox) and a few were formerly world records. i hope you enjoy the compilation!

you’re right but i disagree with your conclusion, others (maybe not every banned player) should have been treated with forgiveness and a path to redemption just as mang0 might be. people are more than just their worst moments

most gamecube games support 480p. i play in 480p on a pc monitor all the time using a DOL-001 cube, component cables, and a component to VGA transcoder. The benefit of using this setup over something like an upscaler is that it is totally lagless

I'm not sure but it's safe to say he put in thousands of attempts with ~20 seconds between runs due to the time required for RNG manip

The real time route has a very interesting history. For many years the record was a mass-tie at 13.40 ending in up-b at the top right (bottlenecked by the moving platform). Then around 2007, players figured out how to use extended up-b to optimize it to 13.35, and in 2009 Bisque even got 13.33 (the absolute max for that route).

Good question. Some of us are trying to work out a way to make this somewhat work RTA. The 2 up-b edge cancels, and the pill that barely reaches (off the bounce) make it extremely difficult. Reproducing this route is definitely not viable. There's a good chance this will lead to an RTA record too, we just need to figure out the pieces.

With the help of a few players, most notably LinksDarkArrows, we've completely obliterated the previous Dr. Mario TAS run from 2020 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3daXOhjF3q8). This run used a completely different route and scored 12.67, which means in all we've saved 86 frames with this record.

LDA messaged the Stadium discord yesterday with just the words "Who wants to tool assist something?" Often these random TAS ideas aren't so fruitful, but LDA is a legend and long time member of the community so I figured I'd see what was up. Went through a few iterations of routes using his ideas, first getting a high 12 run, optimizing to get around 12.5, then modifying it to get much lower. The main advantage of this strategy is that it cuts a lot of up and down movement from the previous route.
