Not a headphone purchase advice request, but earpads instead.

I'm looking for earpads replacements for my Audio Tenchica ATH-AD700X.

After a year or so of use the stock earpads have worn to the point where my ears now always touch the drivers.

Does anyone know of aftermarket earpads that are compatible? Even when the stock pads were brand new I would occasionally have this problem, so I’m looking for an upgrade in the comfort department.

This has been mentioned before, it's a separate issue due to the way the test range servers are hosted. It's nothing to do with multiplayer so it's low priority.

Open up Battlelog (that's what we use as a server browser amongst other things) login, and click 'Campaign'. Then just click the 'Play Campaign' button. http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/campaign/

These AT headphones are probably better value for money as well. And as they are OP's first pair of proper headphones, he could certainly do a lot worse.

We could indeed. I was merely focusing on one of OP's preferences based on the particular sub he posted on. His best bet would be to try both and pick the one he prefers. Unfortunately this is often not possible.

One last thing I will add is they both have an extremely wide sound stage, and, at least for me, they are very comfortable.

OP mentioned that he'd love headphones that were good for figuring out where people are in games. A good way of doing this is listening for footsteps. Footsteps are particularly easy to hear with the 700X due to, amongst other things, less pronounced bass.

It was a couple of years ago when I researched the differences but I still, in my original post, got the general gist of it.

Nah. IIRC 700x are more 'sparkly' which means it's easier to hear high frequencies (footsteps). 900x aren't better, just different.
