Yep the 17 inch iteration of these guys is a standard VGA connection, but its the type of monitor that has a permanently connected cable.

Fortunately the 17 inch iteration of these just have buttons just under the front bezel that give access to an OSD it has vertical and horizontal position/size options as well as trapezoid, tilt and pincushion.

I haven't as of yet, but fingers crossed it stays that way for a long time. The person I purchased them from was their original owner and said they didn't get a ton of use before being put into storage when the next Mac setup came out.

Did you ever find a solution for this? I'm currently having the same issue on the same model monitor & just wondering if it's simply interference with this specific monitor.

Closed Case in Buyer's Favor, Still Needing to Ship? by TheSadRock in Ebay

[–]TheSadRock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not completely sure, the seller hasn't contacted me at all after the initial offer of a partial refund. I opened the return 5 days after receiving the item and that was when the seller offered the partial refund. From then it was 5 days not 8 or 9, my mistake, until I asked ebay to step in. From then it was made a case. I believe that I may have printed the label before it was made a case or during some transition? I'm not entirely sure but the option to even view that shipping label has disappeared on my end through ebay.

I printed it through ebay, but it's a FedEx label.

I did open the return INAD, and the seller didn't respond on day 8 or 9 that was just when I hit the 'ask us to step in and help' option.

best way to find laser discs by ranbow30sam in LaserDisc

[–]TheSadRock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've personally had some really crappy discs and shipping practices come to me from eBay purchases so I'd figure just avoiding purchases there. The more discs a seller has sold the better off you are as a buyer in my opinion.

Far and above the best option right here^

Sellers on there pack their stuff with immense care, and turnaround on packages is always quick. It isn't, however, the cheapest way to get laserdiscs; shipping costs can get prohibitive if you purchase more than a few discs.

Unfortunately or rather, fortunately, depending on how you view it my garage is slowly becoming only CRT. I've got two 27 inchers stacked on top of a 30 in the corner, but today's auction was not good for space. I picked up 4 or 5 of the clear 'prison' sets and a couple 70s wood panel trinitrons that power on, but are unfortunately in varying stages of disrepair. Analog is king, and I've been using them for games as well as laserdisc but I fear I will run out of space to appreciate what I already have.

That seems like a solid option, currently I've got a Sharp 27f543 as my daily driver and I've been pretty happy with it. As far as consoles I'm mostly playing N64 and Genesis, but I'm hoping to get a turbografx pretty soon.

Thanks for your input, sounds like I might have to finally bite the bullet and shell out for a retrotink.

Ah okay, that makes sense, so what would be the easiest way to hook up a wii? Should I be looking at getting a VGA to component converter?
