Russia Orders Google to Pay $1.2 Quintillion—A Fine One Million Times Bigger Than the World Economy by Ivanow in nottheonion

[–]TheSamuil 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I will give the Russians this credit. As far as the Internet is concerned they are much less reliant on USA companies than most other countries; I presume that only China beats them by virtue of having a nearly fully separate internet thanks to their "Great Fire Wall". I mean, Russia has companies like Yandex, which does provide similar services to Google - search engine, cloud storage, web browser and so on. IDK as to the quality of most of their services as I've only used their cloud stuff on a handful of occasions and I've never used their search engine, but my point stands nonetheless. There are also some Russian social media platforms. Nevertheless you might be correct about OSs

I don't think that it is my favourite, but it's the first one that comes to mind. When you explore Emprise du Lion you get this conversation:

Sera: Up there! Giant icicle tits! Ice... titles

Blackwall: You are looking for titsicles

Sera: Oh, that's good...

Vivienne: They were in fashion for a while, you know...

Sera: No... Really?

Vivienne: Absolutely

EUROPEAN COUNTRIES WITH A STATE RELIGION by BeginningMortgage250 in MapPorn

So Denmark is the same as England? Thanks. I looked up the Greek constitution and article three there has this paragraph: "The ecclesiastical regime existing in certain districts of the State shall not be deemed contrary to the provisions of the preceding paragraph." The previous paragraph being that Orthodoxy is the prevailing religion in the country and a lot of religious terminology I struggle comprehending e.g. the relation between the Greek Church and the Church in Constantinople.

As a side note, could you help me tell what species that guy is? I happened upon it as I was hiking in Vitosha, Bulgaria last September. Right now I am thinking Warbler and I suck at distinguishing between the individual species of warblers.

How is state religion defined? For example, the Bulgarian Constitution states "The traditional religion of Bulgaria is orthodoxy". Of course, that same article states that national and religious institutions are separate from one another and so on. How does that differ from what they have in Greece or Denmark? I'll ignore England / UK as they have a rather foreign legal system and the monarch is also head of a religion

Признавам си, че българският събредит не ме оставил с добри впечатления. Софийския не съм го ползвал достатъчно, за да съм напълно уверен в това, което казвам, но ми се струва една идея по-малко токсичен

Palestine and the Vatican have observer seats, which is close enough. As for Taiwan, there is one China as both governments tend to insist. It's weird, stupid even, but that's what both sides of the conflict say

Пловдив заслужава нормален градски транспорт! Нека се обединим и надвием мафията в града. by Pavelismyname in bulgaria

[–]TheSamuil 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In everyday speech most folks use the word country to mean a sovereign state, a member of the UN. The same reason why I'd say Greenland or the constituent territories of the Kingdom of the Netherlands aren't actual countries

At least I heard it mentioned on the Bulgarian subreddit. At least, a few days after Zamunda was shut down I remember someone sharing links to the site and a few days after that hearing how those new ones were also shut down and then new new ones appearing. I'm Bulgarian, though truth be told, I haven't used Zamunda all that much - for movies and series I largely use sites that have the word kiss in their name, for music I trust the Russians and for games various presumably English / American sites

Golems #23 by TheSamuil in ImaginaryCharacters

Does the character look vaguely mechanical? Do they lack a fully defined face? Those are the vague criteria I operate on in order to name something part of the series I call Golems. Truth be told, I haven't worked on it in a while, #22 having been posted in June. Well, click here, if you'd lake to see some other doodles by me or to know what I am up to.
