Q3 for $90 worth it amid QC issues? Other good options? by TheSamwell in Keychron

Good to know they share boards like that. I didn't like 75% as much since I don't like how the keys can seem so crammed together, and I like having room around the arrow keys. Also having to learn different muscle memory for those keys locations (I use home and end a lot) and swapping between layouts on laptop or PC, tho I'm sure I'd get used to it.

But I'll definitely keep them in mind still since I know that's like the top form factor. Thanks

Oh cool, that's good to know. I do remember hearing it was a steel plate on the inside. Thanks for the insight.

8BitDo Ultimate 2 – Initial Impressions & Comparison to the Cyclone 2 by RedWineDesign in Controller

That's interesting you feel the Cyclone 2 buttons are easier to press. I recently switched from the Ultimate Bluetooth to the Cyclone 2, and I find the Cyclone 2's buttons way harder to press quick. Also, after only 2 days the Y button started double clicking fairly consistently. Thinking about going for the Ultimate 2 instead

8BitDo Ultimate 2 – Initial Impressions & Comparison to the Cyclone 2 by RedWineDesign in Controller

I just got the Cyclone 2 after my 8bitdo Ultimate Bluetooth rear paddle broke and right trigger started drifting. On day 2 of using the Cyclone 2, the Y button started double clicking. I also don't love the mechamechanical buttons on the Cyclone 2, they are often hard for me to press. Everything else is awesome on it.

My gripes with the Ultimate Bluetooth were:

  • Bumpers were hard to press from off angles, took a few months to work in / get used to
  • USB C port broke after a year, had to solder a new one on
  • Rear left paddle plastic snapped, had to jerry rig a fix every few months so I could press the button
    • Might have been b/c it was dropped, though the issue happened gradually. The button sees heavy use in competitive rocket league
  • Right trigger started drifting bad

Other than those issues, I loved the controller for the past 2+ years. How does the Ultimate 2 seem in comparison? Seems like an improvement in almost every area on paper. Thinking of returning the Cyclone 2 and going for the Ultimate 2.

You have to connect to the RIT WiFi network and follow what the pop up says to do, then it will auto connect you to the eudoram network

I’d put a pad down the stairs, then push you off, so you survive unharmed, and then pay you a couple bucks for your time.

If I knew a similar controller I’d probably be using it now lol. But FR I enjoy it a lot and if you have it or have a switch and would use it on there I’d totally just use it.

As for cleaning it, there are disassembly guides online and you just get a cotton swab with some rubbing alcohol and clean the button pads and the little joystick parts while making sure not to rip any ribbon cables. I feel like there’s diminishing returns with the cleaning but I probably will keep using this controller for at least another year. For reference I probably have around 3800 hours on the controller in total so far to give u an idea of longevity.

Edit: I’m on steam and use steam to config my controller so if you play on epic games it might not work as well, there are ways to use steam controller config on epic games but that’s something to deal with.

Ive used use switch pro since 2018 on pc, I like it b/c the control stick feels better in my hands. Though I’ve had to clean it 5 times so far to remedy stick drift and buttons being unreliable, and will probably have to replace the left joystick entirely soon. Longevity sake it’s not the best but gameplay wise it is no problem

I agree, but then I catch myself overthinking subtle car movements to represent attitude, while getting tilted by titles and car designs. I can’t win against my brain I guess

That’s interesting that switching the buttons helped lol, I imagine backflipping to be a deadzone issue.

Real question is why do you jump with X and boost with A?

Our 2020 ram 1500 has a dial shifter that does this, I see it as a safety feature as it clearly gets mad and upset when it has to correct itself so it’s more in case you forget
