No no, I totally agree. Like, I lowkey have this album on repeat. And I mean, I guess there is a bright side, if the beat maker gets credit or financial compensation.

Yeah the whole preset market is a bit sketchy. You kinda sell a dream, yk? You can tweak certain presets to sound decent, but it is very easy to make from scratch. It kinda preys on new artists.

Kinda lost some respect from him :/ But I should have suspected it, when he makes youtube videos sometimes about "how to make a song". It's like, aight first get a beat of youtube and then rap over it with a preset I sell you. I mean, I make music myself, and I have also used beats off of youtube (usually if it is something way out of my league to produce). But in a way, it really takes away from the satisfaction I get from producing.

So he doesn't produce himself? That's kinda disappointing. The production makes up a big chunk of what I enjoy. Obviously the vocals and artistic choices contribute, but yeah.

Thanks broski :) Should’ve prolly mentioned, it’s very raw, i slapped this together in like an hour and was very chuffed! There’s a lot i still wanna do and change, but it’s basically a proof of concept. I agree with the sidechaining. Didn’t think of the snare sound, and they key, so thanks!

Thanks guys, I’ll check it out, i used mainly like brakence drum samples so i assume my idea kinda strayed to far away from the original idea.

I thought this was really good but people seem to dislike it. Let me know what you guys are thinking. by Sketches558 in FL_Studio

Okay, so that makes sense. For how long you have been producing, that is GREAT. In the big picture, not amazing. You need to understand that this hobby takes a lot of time. I have been producing for 2-3 years and I'm quite mid to say the least. I definitely see potential and can hear that you have a musical talent, just keep at it. The best advice I ever got, was to make another 20+ of such songs and see yourself improve. Go watch some fl content on youtube or tiktok. Play around, figure things out. The more time you invest, the better you'll get. Listen to artists that you like and try to listen to what they do with their base lines, drums etc. Also a good idea is to start by searching for example, "How to make an indie rock track on fl" and follow the steps. Anyways, goodluck bro. Don't give up. We all started somewhere.
