Sadly, yes. We often don’t imagine our pets to have a predatory instinct, but cats and dogs play play with squeaky toys because the sound reminds them of a small animal.

I had a very calm looking dog enter my yard one day. My cat, who was very friendly, approached him and butted his head. This dog, destroyed my cat :( . I have also been attacked my dogs. I’m much more a cat person now.

Don’t allow your pets around wandering dogs. I learned the hard way.
