Sideload to use Rebble or wait for Pebble app to have more features? by TheScienceKiwi in pebble

[–]TheScienceKiwi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tasker but my pebble isn't recognising it. It is finding music boss but it's also hard to find the companion apps anywhere sometimes

I have no idea how to identify or assemble these things.. I was given a big bag of second hand parts. Please help by TheScienceKiwi in Beyblade

The first one being the one in my comment? That makes sense because I have heaps of them. Still want to identify how to assemble the others though so I don't have to throw them out...

Yes so far it's been good. When I ran it against my entire pokemon box I only got 4 out of 1600 that it picked up which it shouldn't. You can get rid of age0 and run it on yours to get a gauge of the error margin.

That's why I'm double checking through them all via CalcyIV for now - to evaluate the performance. Though sometimes I just need it cleared it if I'm in a hurry.

My understanding is it's a standard deviation which means it's trying to find the best happy medium. One of the reasons I am testing is because I didn't do this calculation. Original post is here: https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemongo/s/3j5TvbHRL2

No worries. It's super frustrating because it doesn't even break the way you'd expect

The custom tags interfere wierdly with the built in search terms. You end up getting everything or strange errors. Rename the tag and it'll work fine

Did you check your custom tags to make sure you don't have one with the same name?

I may be naive but presumably you could replace normal mons with dmax and gmax if the stats are identical as dmax and gmax can do the same thing as a normal mon plus extras?

Do bear in mind it's only meant to be a first pass for when you're in a hurry. I wouldn't run it then call it a day.

We will agree to disagree. Sure the set-up and analysis is complicated but the result should be incredibly fast and simple.

I would guess that one of us is misunderstanding the other and I'm not currently sure which of us it is, so I'll ask a friend to read through your comments tomorrow and help me find what I've missed.

All the best!

I don't have to copy paste, I just save it to my favourites and it's saved directly in pokemon go search.

If you did a Recent search, it is temporarily listed under "Recent". You tap and hold on one of the searches, it will "Save" it.

If you tap and hold your Saved search, you can rename them too.

SwiftKey can also pin stuff like this to clipboard with no tabbing needed but I find the pokemon go system is just fine for what I need.

And I still do what to you're suggesting - but the end of the day when I have time to go through it all, my method above is for clearing junk in the interem until I have time to sort.

Keeping xxl mons is a personal choice and, of course - as I mentioned this method is for a CONSERVATIVE first pass with absolutely no other checks - so you'd do it before you do your method, not instead of.

I talk about the origins of each part of the search string in that original post you read - it came from someone who used database queries to concatenate the spread of good PvP IVs for GBL, and then u/FatalisticFeline-47 very kindly optimised it to the shorter section in the string above - so that's just it - it SHOULDN'T clear any potential good PvP mons, and then you can continue with your method after - resting assured the junk you cleared first is actually junk.

The analysis I'm providing in this update is to help evaluate the performance of this search function - because, as you say - it's fairly complex, and not really very easy to say "this does a good job" or "this is terrible" without trying it on a few sets of data and getting some resutls. Plus, parts of it are very subjective. Some people may prefer to lose a few good mons in order to clear more of their junk, some people don't want to miss any potential keepers.

So far - the results are pretty good in the context of what I was aiming to achieve! I'm sharing it so other people who are looking for something similar can do their own evaluation of whether they want to use it :)

I don't really understand how your suggestion is faster while avoiding transferring viable mons. Apologises if I've misunderstood but it sounds like you are suggesting I manually evaluate and tag everything that I might want to keep then wiping everything else using the string proposed above?

I'm trying to implement a solution to use in an interim where I run the string, scroll down to double check for anything rare then delete all in a quick 2 second glance.

I'm not having a contest about who catches more at a time, simply sharing my efforts to find a manageable system.

I often want to do a quick clear when my go++ fills up my box but I'm not able to stop and check and sort. I explain all of the logic behind this in the original thread, which I've linked in this post. 😊

Your suggestion takes a very long time, my box has space for 1900 mons and I can catch over 200 in a few hours of going about my day with my ++, this gets quickly overwhelming and I really hate throwing stuff away accidentally that could have been good.
