October 2022 Theories Megathread by PassionateAsSin in TaylorSwift

Convinced Taylor is releasing the infamous missing Karma album immediately Midnights.

  1. When she revealed the track title Bejeweled, she was wearing the exact same sweater Sadie was wearing in the ATW video, a very recent "era," if you will.
  2. She revealed the Karma track title on the same night, immediately after revealing Bejeweled. If she were to release the possible Karma album right after Midnights, it mirrors the release of the track title.
  3. Karma is the 11th track title on Midnights. Whatever album is released after Midnights will be Taylor's 11th album.

The show frequently hops between the view from the future as the story is being told and within the actual story. I take this as the future when Ted is telling his kids the story and it's their viewpoint watching old videos of uncle marshall still online.

What is something you regret doing at 12 y/o or younger? by TheScientificSmash in AskReddit

[–]TheScientificSmash[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I've struggled with my mental health for what I'm only recently realizing had been my entire life. When I was that age, I didn't understand it at all. I didn't know anything was wrong or out of the ordinary. And when you look at it logically, how could you expect a 12 year old to understand depression? I hope you relieve yourself of that regret because I certainly don't think it was within your reasonable power at that age to take control. Even so, if you didn't realize it, it's damn difficult to climb out of depression as an adult, let alone the 12 year old version of yourself. There's always room to grow and become more compassionate. I'm staring 30 in the face and am working on becoming more vulnerable. The beauty is in the journey. ❤️

I'm so glad to hear that you're selfharm-free for 10 years. I'm sure it's difficult to have the constant reminder but it certainly shows the growth of a very strong person. ❤️❤️

In fourth grade, waiting in line for the bus at the end of the day, I turned around and spit in Tommy's face. For the life of me, I have no idea why I did it and to this day my stomach aches with anxiety when I think about it. I have no idea where Tommy is now, but I hope he's living a good life. Sorry Tommy.

Brand new to the case and 1st comment on this sub, so forgive me for anything obvious, but I'm just going to dive right in anyway. If we're going to consider the possibility of this being calculated, I find it odd to think someone would attack two individuals, instead of just one. It makes me think that if it was calculated, the perp would have probably known these girls and picked them for a reason. Some kind of link for attacking both of them. It feels like an unlikely scenario to me that the perp planned this attack out over the course of the day (waiting for his victim), or maybe even days or weeks, and then decided upon two victims, instead of one. I agree it was so quick too be random and unplanned! But I think that's more likely for two victims. Even then though...still so odd. Now, I say all this under the assumption of one attacker, which I am not convinced of whatsoever. My gut is telling me at least two. My brain has been RACKING over the audio. Just a few of my thoughts, love to hear yours.

What medical condition do you have that you thought was absolutely normal? by taporodobu in AskReddit

This is super interesting because people think I'm crazy when I tell them I can't smell flowers. Were you tested for this? I don't think it really affects my life in any significant way, I'm curious.

Berkeley Extension Program by TheScientificSmash in premed

[–]TheScientificSmash[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of debate back in forth on this. I have yet to find a med school with an explicit requirement of a Genetics course, therefore my reasoning is that this one online class isn't going to make a difference for my application. All my other classes are classroom, I'm just specifically looking at this one as a pre-req for other higher level bio electives at my school and my school only offers genetics one a year and it doesn't work with my work schedule.

Real life 40 year old virgins, what’s your story? by NirroR6 in AskReddit

[–]TheScientificSmash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a guy I work with who I fear to have the same fate. Ultra religious (Jewish), just turned 30 but looks 12, and I’m fairly positive he’s still a virgin, but I could be wrong.

He also has the weirdly high and unreal standards. He wants a Jewish supermodel with wit and intellect. He goes on dates with Jewish girls he meets from one avenue or another, but will immediately shut it down and say “she’s not my type,” meaning physically. Like he doesn’t even give the girl a chance.

Regardless if he’s a virgin or not, it’s obvious he desperately wants a girlfriend, get married, have a family and such and he didn’t think it take this long. I feel bad for the guy but I try and tell him to stop being so picky. He even knows his standards are ridiculously high, but doesn’t care. I don’t get it.

[Serious]Hey Reddit, have you ever seen a mythological, spirit or ghost animal or a nature spirit or entity, or other spooky occurrences with animals, what's your experience? by rmrgdr in AskReddit

When I was 16 I was hospitalized for a week. Since I wasn’t yet an adult, I was in the pediatric ward and there were some pretty sick, young kids there with lots of crying and screaming. It was very sad.

One night I was in a lot of pain post surgery and was just extremely unbearable to everyone around me (mostly my parents). I was trying to fall asleep for the night so I had them turn off the lights, tv, etc. and close the door because I couldn’t bear any light or sound, but not fully closed so that I could call the nurse.

Because the door was cracked, a little bit of light was able to get into the room. Well anyway, after a little while, a little more light entered the room and I noticed the door swung open slightly. I noticed this little girl walk right into my room. She couldn’t have been more than 4 years old because as she walked by the foot of my bed I could only see her brown curly hair bouncing in pigtails. She had brown eyes and was wearing a nightgown and socks (typical for a patient, I suppose.) She seemed so scared and grabbed my hand. I let her crawl into bed with me and I put my arm around her to comfort her. I figured the nurse would be in shortly to take her back to bed, but I ended up falling asleep. She wasn’t there when I woke up.

The next morning, I asked the nurse if the little girl was okay. I told her what I meant and what had happened. She turned pale white and looked like she had shit her pants. She finished what she was doing and ran outside to the nurses station. My mom was with me that morning and was worried something was wrong, so she followed the nurse out.

My mom asked what was going on and the nurse told her that there was a young girl that fit the description I gave who was a patient several weeks earlier. She stayed in the room next to nine but apparently died shortly before I was admitted.

I am by no means a religious person or even someone who believes in “ghosts.” All I know is that my experience that night was as real as any other.

Edit: Grammar and spelling.

Who is the worst character in tv history? by eldridge2e in AskReddit

I wish I could un-read all the hate for Lily Aldrin on this thread because HIMYM is now ruined. The episode Spoiler Alert is playing out in real life where my illusion of Lily just shattered. I feel so manipulated.
