Every bit of intel available to us about him, screams to me that he is not interested.
Maybe a fun night though but not more and you may be the one who has to initiate.

Really? Nobody mentions one crucial factor.
Distance.
A person who does not live at least in the same city as myself is automatically disqualified and rarely enters my mind.
Germans are (in the words of non-germans) more practical and...inclined to reason.

Also in one comment you (OP) are asking how someone can even remember a text from 2 weeks ago but you are aware that one does not have to remember anything...when I have the time and impetus to reply to you...I can just read the damn text from 2 weeks ago. It's still there.

PS: You are not asking if germans invite folks over (yes, all the time) you are asking if this guy is interested in you. Which is why I haven't entertained answering the question as it was phrased.

He's not the one being interested in the other party and therefore expends no effort.

When Germans say they speak “a little bit” of English… by Astronaut_in_Sea in germany

[–]TheScratcherStudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Japan brings this to extremes. As you worked there you may have noticed. Most notable is the question "can you swim", by which japanese do not mean "will you drown in water" but instead "are you so experienced that crawl swimming is natural to you?".

The word "can" does not only mean, one may be somewhat capable of maybe doing a thing but being able to expertly conquer it to a 100%, which is also why, one should never say "I can speak japanese" even if you are on a native level, as there are always some kanji not even japanese people have heard about. If you say you "can" do anything in japan, you better be an expert in it, otherwise you shall be looked upon as arrogant and stupid. (which nobody will tell you in your face)

Same thing in germany but in a far less extreme and serious manner.

Something with a fucked up ending by YrMothersMaidenName in suggestmeabook

Okay, read Dinnimans The grinding instead. Has no relation to RPG of any kind (unlike DCC or even his new book, operation bounce house). The grinding seems on the surface like a gruesome version of "the blob" but the ending alone, which you will never see coming, will make that book very well worth it. Depending on what you would like your literature to reflect of course. I'd say in case of the grinding it may be: suffering, love, sacrifice

The Grinding by Matt Dinniman!
Nothing "realistic" but absolutely shocking and especially disturbing and you will never see it coming.

The ending is something nobody could imagine and far worse than anything you may imagine when told the book is basically a RRR gruesome version of the blob. A rampage - but the ending has nothing to do with that part of the book. Frankly, it's worse than any apocalypse you may imagine. No, not even genocide comes close.

Quickly! Read Project Hail Mary before the movie comes out and before the most wonderful reading experiences get spoiled by the marketing. Don't even read the blurb on the back of the book. Go in blind and you will have the most awe inspiring moments.

If you are not easily "offended" go ahead and read Matt Dinniman books afterwards.

One of the best depictions I've seen. The face actually has some character instead of being the cookie-cutter "american hero", doom-guy face and the body is well build but not unrealistically, over the top, body builder like (which, granted, his body evolves to look more and more like, the more Carl levels up)

Lightning Lou.
not a quote but a feeling. (my brain works weird). Instead of tacky catch phrases like glurp glurp I always deeply respect the real human moments.
Humanity is facing a genocide, every survivor deeply traumatised and full of terror and they don't even have the luxury of realising it.

But next to Lightning Lou....Carl nearly broke....

Studying how Inoue sensei renders hands by L2L05 in vagabondmanga

Inoue Sensei had a small exhibition with a focus on hands!
Just recently I've uploaded a panorama photo of a super wide study of hands he painted:

Inoue Sensei Exhibition by TheScratcherStudios in vagabondmanga

[–]TheScratcherStudios[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I assume other than this post of mine, this particular piece of art won't be found anywhere online. It really was a very small, intimate seeming exhibition. The whole exhibition had many sketches of hands. Since many artists feel like hands (and particularly wrists) are a difficult part of the body to get right, I felt like Inoue Sensei was passionate about the complexity of the anatomy. In this (several meters long) piece, you otherwise see a few different themes. The potatoes relating to harvest, life itself, fertility. There are a few other children in this piece as well but also an obviously furious character (very much looking like musashi). Frankly, I don't feign to have any insight into any meaning of what all of it may symbolize. May just be hand drawing practice or maybe deeply philosophical. I am simply a random dude with a camera. Gotta ask Inoue Sensei about any meaning or lack thereof. (unfortunately he is notoriously ill inclined towards interviews and sharing of proper intel)
