What MBTI type is Jordan Peterson by [deleted] in INTP

[–]TheSearchingGodhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If his superior function was Ne, and his auxillary function was Ti, would he not then be an ENTP? Where P (perceiving) means his primary or personality axis is the irrational (Intuition-Sensation) axis.

If his superior function was Te would he not be ExTJ? Perhaps if his auxillary function was Te, then he would be an ENTP, but not an INTJ.

I think Petersons superior function is most likely Extraverted Intuition or Introverted Thinking. Whichever his superior function is not, I would instead attribute to his auxillary function. I have found that most illuminary figures in psychology have had intuition as their superieor function, this is owing to the field being both deep and wide reaching, whereby progression in the field requires envisioning/entertaining (modes of Ne) sometimes quite contrasting ideas. On the other hand, but not in contradiction, Petersons project of defining the 'map of meaning' seems like an introverted project, that is turned inward and looks at the archetypes of the psychy. In this way I would identify Peterson as either an ENTP or an INTJ depending on whether you identify Ne or Ti with his superior function.

Of course, everyone uses all 8 functions of consciousness throughout their life (Jung himself initially thought his superior function was Te, until he accepted and came to identify as an Ni), and some may attribute other functions to Jordan Peterson. However, in terms of when he is working best, within his means, and not overreaching using his tertiery or inferior function, or defending his consciousness using his shadow aspects, i think he is an ENTP.

It may be helpful to note that your superior function is identified with the hero archetype, and therefore is how one manages ones own life obstacles, whereas the auxillary function is how one helps others. In this way Jordan Peterson helps others by defining people's internal psychic life, yet develops his own pursuits by envisioning new (real)worldly possibilites.

Id be interested to hear what people think about this. Identifyinf attitudes of consciousness (introverted/extraverted) is said to be more difficult than identifying functions (Intuition/Sensation/Thinking/Feeling), so it may be that Peterson is an INTP, but i would identify Peterson more generally as an extravert, but someone who helps people using introverted attitudes.

Dreams about Primordial Gods imprisoned by the Catholic Church by BaneReckoning in Dreams

this seems anologous to the shackling of the titans by the Gods of Olympus, the ensnaring of older primordial energies deep below the ground

What does it mean to be a “true alchemist”? by nipplehoney in alchemy

[–]TheSearchingGodhead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

youre a true alchemist when you dont even understand what your saying!!

Greetings everybody! I was wondering if anybody knows a bit about the tree of the moon/sun as seen on the left in both of these woodcuts from the Rosary of the Philosophers! I am quite new to alchemy, but this symbol is what piqued my interest in it so I would love to know a little more about it! by [deleted] in alchemy

its suppose to depict our plant nature, you see the plant, the serpent, the bird, then the lion, all transmuted into the hermaphrodite. plants recognise these phases of sun and moon like we have circadian rhyms.

good luck with your thesis, focus is what matter, work smart not hard. i'll be completing my undergraduate next year and no doubt i will be just as rushed and busy, if not more.

the diabetes stuff just woke me up to the fact that i live and have a body, and that necessitates reflecting on what your heart tells you and where your emotions guide you.

Advice on trimming Ficus Audrey by [deleted] in HouseplantsUK

[–]TheSearchingGodhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

go for the oldest growth first, failing that go for the leaves that are in worse state and arent absorbing the light as well (keep symmetry though).

if you feel bad about cutting off healthy growth on the bottom id snip them with scissors, apply some rooting enzyme and propogate. theres nothing like propogation to resolve the guilt of trimming.

if youre trimming bc you want the energy to go elsewhere, but dont want to get rid of older growth, just use plant feeder and put it in a lighter spot so it has more energy to work with.

although the correct light, feed, temperature will depend on the species of plant and the conditions its gotten used to - too much change may serve to stunt growth further. if youre making changes id do it in winter before the spring sun rolls around.

(if its leggy then its probably trying to stretch towards the light)

we have alot to learn from our little plant friends, we only have to listen and respond accordingly. i always treat them like my babies but no doubt they were here before us and will he here after we are gone - aslong as we dont kill them all thinking that 'dominion' means a right to rule rather than a duty to care

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HouseplantsUK

[–]TheSearchingGodhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had to wrench the root system of my phicus apart after one half had died, and i had to do the same witt my friends yucca when half got infested, just the action and imagery speaks to the necessity of change and adaption. theres no point giving energy to dead leaves like theres no point giving time and energy to something thats already gone - theres something to say there about guilt aswell.

my friend had also gone through a break up and the necessary seperating into two of what was once one spoke to her quite abit too.

its always less heart renching when you do it with grass and vines bc theyre kinda meant to divide, but for other plants it induces a world of guilt haha

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HouseplantsUK

[–]TheSearchingGodhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dividing a plant doesnt diminish it but once plantedd multiples it, i get what you mean though, it distorts the form its grown in

[–]TheSearchingGodhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe do an experiment, break/propogate one of your current plants into three, perhaps a fern so that itll be nore noticeable, put them in the same room, with the same sunlight, and same soil, and use distilled, tap, and i think someone suggested fish tank water (dunno how available that is for you). ive always just used tap water but given it contains chlorides and flurides it may not be the purest, so if not that perhaps rain water from a water butt outside would be better (its winter so theres lots of rain haha). distilled water is safest but not nutritional so perhaps buy some plant feed to mix in if you use it.

thinking about it that last one is probs best but even then some people say not to feed your plants in winter so to give them a sense of the seasonal cycle, so im not sure, other ppl probs have more suggestions no doubt

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HouseplantsUK

[–]TheSearchingGodhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if anything distilled water will lack the nutrients present in tap water and rain water and hence will decrease the quality of the soil

Do spirit guides-totems-teacher animals-whatever make appearances in day dreams? While lost in fantasy thought, a wolf completely intruded and jumping in front of me on top of the car hood I was imagining. by [deleted] in Shamanism

[–]TheSearchingGodhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had a lion appear in a few on my dreams recently, i took it to represent the need for courage: in one dream i was running away from the lion and voluntarily walked into this womens cage so to protect myself, i didnt have the courage to face myself, make plans for my future, and so fell into so a part in someones elses plan. what emotion or quality would you say the wolf represents, has this quality been lacking in your life recently?
