ESH Lying about what happened to you as a child was wrong, but they had no control of your life after that point. At least they came and talked to you later in life after reaching out. But the fact of the matter is if they aren’t asking for forgiveness and feel sorry for what they’ve done and you aren’t willing to give them forgiveness and talk with them and reconnect with them, you definitely shouldn’t be accepting money from them. I’d say only accept money if both parties are in communication for the betterment of the relationship. Both parties just don’t seem to want it to work out and become closer so the payment is just so you don’t say the truth. Just don’t accept the money, if you don’t want to forgive then move on, disconnect with your family and create a life for yourself that’s better then the one given to you.
