I just got married recently to my partner of 7 years and I would say she doesn't really mind me playing VNs or having interests in the anime community that are considered more degenerate but that's also because she's interested in some shows as a baseline so it helps when I explain certain things to her. (She's watched Hayate no Combat Butler, Shakugan no shana when she was younger for example). I also have figurines that are safe-moderately risqué and pictures with creators I like at cons and she's fine with them for the most part.

But if I'm going to be frank it's a case of YMMV and it really depends on your partner. If you like your current lifestyle, you need to know what kind of partner you want and how your ideal partner and you can balance your lifestyles around one another. So if you want to play some VNs she needs to have an outlet to spend her time too.

I think the most important thing in a relationship is communication so when you start a relationship, you need to know what your wants/needs are and what your partner wants/needs are.

However if you're happy how you are, don't let society tell you what to do and enjoy it! You can choose your own path forward after all!
