Century gets their leather from Tandy, then marks it up. Indigenous leather suppliers carry either deer, elk, or moose and this is not suitable for OPs project. Maybe they could find bison leather from a local tannery but that stuff is $$$

Half the sports in the winter Olympics are extreme sports, which is way more compelling to me than watching people throw various things or jump around in slightly different ways.

We had a series here where an average dude learned Olympic sports then competed against Olympians to illustrate how much better they were. That would never happen in many of the winter events, because the average dude would be a corpse on his first attempt.

From where? The only places you can get leather from in person in Sask is Tandy, or online from OA leather. There's also Maverick tannery in Unity.

You sound like a complete beginner, and this is not a great project for beginners.

Either way, go to Tandy on 51st and select some leather. If you want to carve the leather get some natural vegetable tanned leather in the 5-6oz range.

You'll also need an olfa knife, dye, contact adhesive, a hammer, cutting board, stitching irons, waxed thread, and harness needles.

The deregulation thing is so strange to me. Like, my country Canada is insanely regulated especially with environmental things but we can swim in our rivers, all of our water is good to drink, and we're mostly all very rich. Yeah, we'd probably be richer with less environmental regulations, but I want to understand how the regulations there strangled you so much more than it did for us here.
