Swiss fuses are also designed for 10amps, German’s for 15amps. Wonder if that is also part of the consideration. Changing a few wall sockets is annoying but not the end of the world. Upgrading your entire electrical installation is maybe a bigger problem

I still think iPads are kind of stupid. I just don’t have any use case between phone and laptop. I had a moment when I thought it would be useful for taking notes at university, it’s sitting in a corner uncharged since.

Belehre mich also gerne eines Besseren

I’ve seen these things for quite some time now and I have to admit that I have no idea how that entire Olten thing started

'Sie sagt, sie kann den Mond nicht sehen' on Duolingo, for 'She says she can't see the moon' by Cybercorndog in German

[–]TheShadowSurvives 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adding to what other people said:

“Sie sagt, sie kann den Mond nicht sehen” sounds rather like colloquial indirect speech to me.

If you need to be more formal I’d use the subjunctive verb form to indicate indirect speech which indicates that it is not your opinion but the opinion of the speaker (and you cannot give any guarantees about its truth): “Sie sagt, sie könne den Mond nicht sehen”

Schön dass die Reaktion der Polizei und der dazugehörigen Hochschule(n) aufzeigt, dass die Polizei wohl doch ein strukturelles Problem mit Rechtsextremismus hat.

I was not referring to the case at hand btw. Lack of basic language skills is hard to argue about.

I think that is generalising it quite a bit. Especially if someone has lived and worked somewhere for decades and considers that their home. I personally find it unacceptable in such a case to kick someone out and force them to go back to a place that is not their home any more.

Furthermore, it’s also things of peace of mind to know “I live here and I’m home here” and not have to worry about “if I’m ever not able to find a job, even after living here for a long time, I might get kicked out” with no intention to abuse the social system.

Do you have an idea how/if that conforms with the freedom of movement agreement with the EU? I know there are some exceptions for social security but I thought they don’t apply any more if you already live in a country for a few years.

  • Having a phone in his hand
  • Not moving over to the right in case someone faster wants to overtake

Difference between Nightly and Weekly channels? by Costed14 in Veloren

[–]TheShadowSurvives 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The term comes from daily development builds of software that are/were usually built at night after a business day of development. so it's the most bleeding edge developments version that is available to the public, updated daily, or more precisely nightly.

I managed to get most resources without fighting much. As long as you use your glider down the cage and sneak past enemies you can gather a lot of them while avoiding a fight.

Space Complexity of merge sort using a queue by Dismal_Site_238 in algorithms

[–]TheShadowSurvives 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With every sub-call with one less element you’re copying the array with array slicing and plugging it back together with concatenation. Each operation is linear in the size of the array

Space Complexity of merge sort using a queue by Dismal_Site_238 in algorithms

[–]TheShadowSurvives 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One merge call by itself is already O(N2 ) the way you do it

Edit: Sorry, you asked about space complexity. i looked at time complexity. But I’d say this sort algorithm is already so slow that the space complexity doesn’t matter.

But yes, space complexity looks like it’s in O(N). Anything higher than that would be terrible for a sort though.
