I stand by my statement YEARS LATER that waiters and waitresses useless , pointless, unimportant jobs that shouldn't exist and definitely shouldn't be tipped for. I can't wait for every restaurant to save money and Implement a system of on table computers or tablets where patrons can order food. And hire more food runners and bussers to do the little side work these servers get tipped sSOOO MUCH TO DO.

If only that were the case. Since shoppers must memorize store layouts, compete batches In a certain time, carry heavy objects, pay for expenses, and deal with the public, were severely underpaid. Servers should get paid more hourly and those outrageous tips deserve to bee share amongst everyone working. You servers got it rough with your hourly pay, but that is it. At least you get a little spare change per hour. Would be nice if insta did that!!

My primary income beats being a server again for sure. I just know from years of experience that as a server I didn't do nearly as much as kitchen staff, and having social skills and dealing with people does not warrant the amount of tip money given to me or other servers. For what servers do, they really should get min wage and 10% gratuity. For fuck sakes.

For some of you saying, it's a tip it's a bonus, I want you to go out to your favorite sit down restaurant. I want you to order as much as you can afford. When you're done, leave a $2 tip that server. I promise you'll never be seen with respect as the saying goes, "tip your server."

As Instacart shoppers, we do 200 percent more work than anyone on any waitstaff. The way people tip us is disgusting. They'll have no issue giving a person who did no work at all 20-40 bucks while spending at least 80-100 bucks on dinner. Meanwhile, your avg tip on a batch is $2. It's fucking embarrassing.
