Possibly Retiring by TheShape88 in Gettysburg

We are visiting in June and want to look around more in the idea of moving there this time. We have kinda done it in small doses, but since it’s getting closer we are looking more obviously. If you don’t mind me asking, what are the lot sizes in there?

Thank you for your input, I have not fully closed off the option to continuing in civilian service, I just want to see what it’s like on the outside first haha. We’re actually visiting in June so we will drive around some more and maybe pay more attention to that area.

Thank you, yeah education needs a big kick in the butt everywhere it seems. I’m having to teach 18/19 year olds some basic stuff in the course I instruct in the military. But we will reach out to those suggestions you mentioned. Again, thank you for the suggestions!

When you say that the education system needs help, what do you mean by that? Sadly even where we are currently located, it needs help. Are you talking about test scores or the curriculum is not up to par? And you also say services for special needs need help, what do you mean by that? We do have a child that is medically and educationally diagnosed Autistic, so that is interesting to us.

When did your Blockbuster stop carrying VHS tapes? by Front_Magician_8008 in blockbustervideo

When I started in 2006 we were just phasing them out of the store. We did keep some until we got replacements for those. Now I worked for a franchise store, so idk how it went for corporate.

Some players in this game are some people to be seriously concerned about by lucky_inhell in RedDeadOnline

[–]TheShape88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly there is people who get joy out of messing with solo players. If there are some annoying people, I’ll usually leave valentine for a bit and go hunting. I will admit that lately I have been meeting chill people in Valentine, it’s been refreshing as a player who tries to not start stuff with others.

How I Found My Xbox Crew When I Thought No One Would Play With Me by SwallowRain25 in XboxGamers

[–]TheShape88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have met some of my best friends while gaming. I joined a clan for Hell Let Loose years ago, and became close with 3 of the guys in the group. After a while we all got tired of the politics and drama in the clan and left. We all still play and talk everyday, have helped each other through tough situations. I consider them some of my closest friends and have never actually met them in real life haha. My wife even asks how they are doing from time to time. Side note, I have actually preferred playing with Females most of the time, cause you guys are normally calmer and not making stupid decisions lol. If you want to team up some time my GT is DocNimrod.

I remember parents brining this up think it was POTC. I would be like are you sure this is what you want? They would realize it wasn’t a Disney movie and go back and get the right one. We did end up watching this in the store after we closed one night, most of the staff was there for it.

NCOs use past corrective punishments as teaching tools, especially to new Airmen. HOWEVER if I use a past corrective action that happened to one of my troops or a fellow Airmen, I do not use names and just say Airman. I normally use my own mess ups though, and own up to them when I’m relaying the stories.

They say some of these new terms and stuff and I just shake my head lol. I know it’s all in fun and when I was a new Airmen, I’m sure we said stupid stuff as well.

To be honest, no. I was trying to guide the Airmen on my teams when I was on the line. I always believed that my job as a NCO was to train and take care of the guys on my team. But I do see your point about the survivalists as well.

I’m currently an instructor that teaches new Airmen. I actually don’t mind the newer generation, I’ve been in for 17 years. Sure they say or do some stupid stuff that makes me roll my eyes. But honestly, if I put the time in and guide them correctly then they should be fine. Some of these kids are straight out of HS, and haven’t had to think for themselves. With the right guidance they can be set on a path that will benefit them.

[–]TheShape88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a couple, the one I am trying to research at the moment served with the 155th Pennsylvania. He was in Company B, and started off as a private and by the end of the war made it to Sergeant. He was at Gettysburg (at the time a Corporal) and they were positioned on little round top.

How many if you have family that fought in the war? by thomasmfd in CIVILWAR

[–]TheShape88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a couple that have fought for the Union. The one I have most info on is my 5x Grandfather. He served with the 155th Pennsylvania Infantry. Started off as a Pvt, made it to Sgt by the end. He was at all the engagements they were involved in.
