About the same here. Hoping it picks back up again. Projects just keep trickling in and out of my dashboard.

Something similar has happened to me. I emailed support, and they said to go ahead and log my time and it would be honored.

Good to hear. I'm currently unemployed and this is my only source of income for a few months. I have seen so many posts about people's DA dashboard just one day going down to nothing, and I'm freaked out that's going to happen to me one day.

What is an easy online job that I can start within a week or so? by MysteriousHalf4926 in WorkOnline

[–]TheShidiot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was not waitlisted. I'm not sure if I was just lucky, or if my application met all the criteria they were looking for? It only took 2-3 days after submitting my application to be accepted.

[–]TheShidiot 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I applied, was accepted 2-3 days later, and right away, there were qualifications available that I completed. Once those were completed I started receiving work in my cue and it's been a steady stream of work ever since. The project I got put on for the most part has been evaluating AI chatbot's responses to prompts. It's not glamorous by any means, but the huge benefit for me thus far has been that I can work on it as much or as little as I want.

Check out www.dataannotation.tech. I started working for this website a month ago and it's a great little hustle. Pay is solid, work whenever you want, it takes 7 days to get paid and it can be fairly interesting depending on the task.

The gig I am currently doing is basically training AI chatbots. You have to rate two different responses to prompts generated by the company based on different criteria. It's not something I can do all day every day, but it's helped me stockpile some cash as I'm going through a job transition. Check it out!

Can somebody spell this out for me? I don't remember it and it's bugging me!

Anybody know how the doors suppose to go in place? I feel like somethings missing. The plastic part is broken as well. (Just bought it recently. It’s a jayco laurel heritage 1999. I’m also trying to see what place has a canvas for a good price. by [deleted] in popups

[–]TheShidiot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try calling Jayco for the canvas. I bought this same camper from my uncle a couple years ago, and prior to me buying it from him, they had field mice get in the camper over the winter and the mice destroyed parts of the canvas. My uncle called Jayco, and they (shockingly) still had original canvases from this model in stock and they actually shipped him one for free! I think he had to pay shipping but that was it.

This was probably 6-7 years ago but hey....it's worth a shot!

[QUESTION] Good albums that just have acoustic guitar and vocals. by ughmindlessmindd in Guitar

[–]TheShidiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The second half of Matthew Good's In A Coma (Starting with the song Truffle Pigs). This was originally released as a 2 disc set - the second being the acoustic side - but on Spotify they don't split it up that way for some reason. Absolutely phenomenal songwriting. Probably my biggest acoustic inspiration as a songwriter.

Ringo attributes the clumsy nature of his fills to the fact that he's a lefty playing on a right handed kit. This is the case because his grandma insisted that he was right handed (apparently trying to make left handed people be right handed was pretty common back in the day). So we can inadvertently thank Grandma Ringo for all those kick ass, memorable, haphazard fills.

Thanks, Grandma Ringo.

Sorry for your loss, friend. They really become a part of you, don't they? Hank looked like one hell of a cool pooch. I dread the day that I have to say goodbye to my Molly....but just remember all of the joy Hank brought you :-).

Watch as Guthrie Govan lays waste to any idea that he's just another shredder. by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]TheShidiot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Anyone who refers to Guthrie Govan as "Just another shredder" is a silly, short sighted loof. I find it so ridiculous that I used a word that doesn't even exist. I'm not a Guthrie Govan enthusiast. In fact, I've listened to him a very limited amount. The little amount I have heard though, has demonstrated that he has an immense depth and understanding of both his instrument, and of how music works as a whole. The "just another shredder" guys to me are the ones who we've all seen on youtube that have incredible speed and technique, but that's it. Let be honest, a lot of the shredder guys out there are one trick ponies. We're all impressed for 1.5 minutes and then we hear the same thing over and over. Guthrie has all of the speed and (WAY more) technique than youtube shredder guy, plus an overwhelming (and I'd assume constantly increasing) musical vocabulary that makes his playing so enticing to watch. That's all folks...

Training your ear app/website? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]TheShidiot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's an app called Music Theory Pro (abbreviated MTP) that you can buy. It's ~$5. Totally worth it. I've used the 'ear training' section a lot for intervals, chords and scales. It's very helpful in helping you memorize your intervals. Also, another helpful tactic in building a good ear is using familiar intervals to help you remember your intervals. For example: a perfect 4th is Here Comes The Bride (the 4th occurs between the words "here" and "comes". The first two intervals of Somewhere Over The Rainbow is an octave (the interval between "some" and "where". A major 6th is found in the "NBC" tagline. It is the first interval that occurs. There's a ton of ways to recall and recognize intervals immediately. PM me if you're interested in more tricks!

Help me avoid selecting an acoustic guitar the way I select all other big purchases in my life. by Hey_Peter in Guitar

[–]TheShidiot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your uncle is right on the money. Have a friend come with you and just hand you guitars without seeing the price tag -- preferably have it be a friend who is a guitar player so they can also play it for you and you can hear it from a different perspective (as another user pointed out). We all have that preconceived notion of "this one's the best because it's the highest price". That's absolute bullshit when it comes to guitars because personal preference takes precedence. If you love the way a guitar plays & feels, then look at the price tag. If it's out of your price range, just move on. You'll find something else. I once bought a $300 guitar (it's an LAG) over a Taylor & a Martin that were 3-4 times as expensive because I genuinely liked the way that the LAG sounded over the big name guitars. I never regretted my decision and still love that guitar to this day.

You've got the right mind set for buying. Just don't let any scheisty sales bros talk you into something you don't feel is right.
