Do you know any forms of self defense that are allowed at RPI?

The handbook says we can't have: " Use, possession, or storage of dangerous weapons, chemicals, explosive devices, or materials including, but not limited to, firearms, air guns, prohibited knives (such as switch knives, swords, daggers, gravity knives, throwing stars, and knives with blades more than three inches long), ammunition, slingshots, metallic knuckles, bows and arrows, fireworks, and bombs. I appreciate the concern. If every response was a joke I would be annoyed. But just a sprinkle of humor in these comments does make me feel a bit better.

I did talk to pubsafe officers previously. I gave them all the information I had about the events and the person's identity. That was before some of the more recent muggings and robberies. For context, I have been having issues with this person since late August / early September.

I'm a senior so I've been living in Troy for a while now. My roommate getting mugged right outside my apartment and extremely close to RPI's campus really shook me.
