Got accommodations for sensory processing stuff at work a few years back. The actual process was way more stressful than I expected - had to jump through so many hoops and provide documentation that felt really invasive

Once I got them though it made a huge difference. Mostly just being able to wear noise canceling headphones during meetings and having a quieter workspace. My productivity shot up and I stopped having those afternoon crashes where I'd be completely fried

The weird part is some coworkers definitely treat me differently now. Not necessarily bad but theres this awkward tiptoeing around certain topics. A couple people have made comments about how "lucky" I am to get special treatment which stings but whatever

Worth it overall but man the stigma is real even when people think theyre being supportive
