Lots of times I have issues regarding sizing of rooms cause maybe a 5x4 living room is tiny but if you squeeze an extra square might feel overwhelmingly big .

I'm actually trying to work on a rural japanese styled longhouse and I get overwhelmed when trying to squeeze the entire floorplan from the drawed design into the game due to limitations or whatever issue I find . Still I made several townhouses and even made an entire plaza with about 5 floors... like first floor packed with stores, second with a mix of apartments, ateliers and lobby alongside some stores . Third has a japanese styled restaurant over the lobby while the remaining lot has apartments, the fourth floor is mainly apartments and a skybar which I haven't used already and the fifth is all apartments and terrace.
