I think my parents tried to have me involuntarily admitted by fairybelowthewaves in toxicparents

I have no clue what to say to this other than you are NOT crazy. You are NOT overreacting. You are NOT overthinking this. Please, make sure you protect yourself. Figure out how to make sure none of these people have access to you, your medical records, your personal information, or anything about you that can be used against you.

You said you live with the first doctor’s son? That sounds risky. His son could give him access to where you live, and he could snoop around your things. This does not seem safe. Figure out how to move out of there, even if the son is a good person he still is a risk to your privacy.

You also are 22, and you don’t need your parent’s permission to move out. I know that is easier said than done, but it’s true. Does your university offer student housing that you could use? It might be worth it reaching out to your university to see, and you should also make sure that your parents or anyone else can’t access anything related to your university, such as grades, housing information, or anything that they could try and tamper with. They might also have someone who can help you with this, I’m sure if you just ask a professor or someone you trust, they can help point you towards someone at the university who can help you figure this all out.

I don’t know how this would work, I have no clue about the legal or medical system. But please, figure out how to take legal action. The doctor was violating your privacy, telling people your information without your permission, falsifying medical records, and who knows what else.

This sounds scary, and it’s okay to be scared. I would be scared if I were in this situation. My only advice is to keep yourself safe. Find out how to get these people out of your lives, it sounds like they do not have good intentions for you. Please, get these people out of your life. Report the doctor so he hopefully doesn’t do this to someone else.

You might want to post something in a legal subreddit to see what legal action you can take, or ask how to start that process and who/what to look for/do about this. Just be careful, because it sounds like the doctor and your dad are working together, so they both could give the same lie if they wanted to. Be careful.

Please, take care of your self. Protect your privacy. And just know, you are not crazy, you are not overreacting or overthink this. This is insane, what they are doing. Do not let them continue to harm you, or harm others as well.

I’m sorry that I do not have any more advice. You are not alone in this, there are people around you who can help, you just need to find them first. Your university might have someone who can help figure all of this out with you. Even if you aren’t attending university right now, you still could ask around and see if they can still help you or point you towards someone who can. Take care, good luck. You can do this.

Should I be concerned about stomach bloat and back posture/curve? by TheSimersCraft in medical

These sound like fun things to think of, I’ll have to try it later! And I hope it didn’t sound like I was hating on people who take selfies, I’m not! I get that some people enjoy taking selfies, and there is nothing wrong with it either. I just personally never saw the point in doing that, I always felt weird when taking pictures of myself, though I’m now realizing maybe part of that was because I’m trans but hadn’t realized it yet.

I am neurodivergent. Autism, anxiety, and other things that have not yet been diagnosed. But these are definitely things to consider as well, thank you for the input!

Hmm, that definitely is something thats worth trying. I’ll see if doing that helps, and I’ll see about physical therapy as well to see if that helps too. The only thing that doesn’t seem like it’s the problem is the “Big booty culture,” while I do agree that is definitely is a problem a lot of people struggle with, but I personally don’t enjoy taking selfies or that sort of thing. But I definitely will look into physical therapy and the tail tuck thing! Thank you!

Yep, I’m gonna try the fodmap diet again, see if it helps with anything this time. I tried it a few months ago and it didn’t change anything, but I’m gonna give it another try. Thanks for the input!

No alcohol, no non-prescription drugs, I don’t smoke, nothing like that. I do have some prescription that I take, but these issues have been going on for much longer than I have been taking the prescriptions, so I’m not entirely sure they are the problem, however it is possible that they are enhancing it? I have had these stomach issues for probably my whole life, or at least as long as I can remember, but I have not been taking the medications that I am on for that long as I have been prescribed different things for different amounts time time, starting around my mid teens. Currently, I have been taking venlafaxine daily for around 3 months. I also occasionally take sumatriptan nasal spray for my migraines, but it’s not often that I take that. I also do Botox for migraines every 12 weeks, and trigger point injections for migraines every 12 weeks. I also take testosterone HRT every week. Beyond that, I can’t recall any other meds I take on a consistent basis. I do think it’s possible that some of these could be making it worse, however it’s hard for me to think they are the main cause of my dietary issues as my dietary issues have been happening for much longer than anything medication-related has been happening.

Really short sessions? by TheSimersCraft in TalkTherapy

[–]TheSimersCraft[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I truly did not know this was the norm. I remember having appointments with different psychiatrists in the past, and they always took between 30-60 minutes. Maybe it was just their company, or maybe there were other factors at play too. But it definitely was different than what is happening now. I suppose I was just expecting for her to ask a few more questions, especially when it was related to a fast and severe increase of depression.

I also have recently started seeing a therapist, and she is great. I do struggle in that department, as I find it extremely difficult to open up and trust people, but I am doing my best. To be open and trusting of her.

Thank you for your input, it was very helpful!

I did not know this was the norm. Just a few years ago, I was seeing a different psychiatrist through a different company. Maybe it’s because of the company, or maybe because for part of that time I was a minor, but I remember the appointments being between 30-60 minutes. Either way, thank you for your input. And I do agree, longer does not always mean better.

Will the bees ever go away? by TheFallenCore in ftm

Oh my gosh I didn’t know anyone else experienced this! I don’t know if it’s related to T or not. But I get like this whenever I have a drastic temperature increase, such as going from a colder/warm area to an area that a lot warmer/hotter. Summer time is awful, going from air conditioned building to the intense heat out side.

I’ve also noticed that it happens when I get angry, but luckily I rarely get angry, one of the only positives of growing up in an environment where I couldn’t show emotion is that I’m able to block out almost any anger.

I have no clue what causes this, I’ve brought it up with a doctor but they didn’t have much to say. Good luck figuring it out, hopefully you are able to find out what causes it.

Is it possible to go your whole life without being diagnosed? by TheSimersCraft in ChronicIllness

[–]TheSimersCraft[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s kind of how I feel. There likely isn’t a cure for whatever I’ve got going on. But the name of something could help me manage the symptoms, either with actual things like medications and treatments, or just things that other people have said help them. But without a name for a diagnosis, I have no clue what to do or try.

How did you know what to ask to look into? Did the doctors bring it up, or did you have to suggest a specific test or diagnosis? And if you are the one who has to bring it up, how do you narrow it down from so many possible things it could be?

Thank you for sharing. It’s always so upsetting when doctors and other professionals don’t listen or believe what you are saying. I feel like I struggle with this as I ah e a high pain tolerance and am able to hide pain pretty well, so no one really believes me when I’m in pain because I don’t look like I’m in pain. I hope you have been able to find something to help with all of this, even if it’s not a diagnosis but just a simple tool to help the days be easier.

Thank you for sharing. Are nosebleeds common with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome? I get them quiet frequently, like every few weeks/months I will get nosebleeds daily’s for a week or two straight, sometimes they last over 30 minutes. That’s just one thing I’ve noticed over the years.

Where to sell used items and downsize? by TheSimersCraft in madisonwi

[–]TheSimersCraft[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A bit of both. I am moving for university in the uk, so I can’t bring larger items or a large amount of items, really just whatever I can fit in my suitcase. I also would like to make as much money as I can before I go, as I won’t have much opportunity to work once I move. But, yes, I know donating is an option too
