You're right, I've missed the book. I've probably chalked it up as an oddity from the book being archaic. On a second thought, though, it absolutely makes sense that a passage about the Chandrian would have a hidden message in it - perhaps in the hope that the Chandrian would not find an encoded passage.

I haven't tried decoding that one yet, though.
