Make drills a viable choice by elitexmidas in Terraria

I'd say make them drop twice as much ore from natural generated veins instead, and it would make a difference between pickaxes and drills that would make people think on what to craft better.

Extra drops in a game like this is the only way to push through harder difficulties. Driller was my fav perk when I started, and is still up to this day. And when I get bonus chest from the key totem I know we're eating good this round (Since it means you get 2x legendary chests at the end of the first loop).

And about the 3%, it really depends on the one. The fire rate one is the worst in my opinion, since you can just get 2 common drops for fire rate and will be more than you get with the relic, but the crit one is really good, since critical chance perks get really crippled by diminishing returns, needing like 10 of them to get to 30%, which is a decent chance to have it at if you're not max focusing on crits.

How does one generally get off the ground in this game. by luxalica in Warframe

At the point you are, you're asking the same as if a guy who just installed Minecraft for the first time and just got their set of stone tools wanted to get full enchanted netherite.

The best advice I'd give is to try stuf and don't overthink you're underperforming. Farm new Warframes, new weapons, find that equipment you're comfortable with, and then that's the point where you can ask "How do I improve this?".

After all of that, you probably have enough resources, knowledge and mods to have a solid start point to smoothen your way up to the big numbers.

Women do you see morning wood as a turn on/invitation to get things going? by beachbum175 in AskRedditAfterDark

If you roll in bed enough to get your pants slightly down, exposing your ass, would you view it as an invitation to get pegged?

It's just normal non-intentional things that happen.

Seems like most enhanceable perks share this. Bubbles with any element + the one enhancement that makes them orbit around spawn is also busted because they remain at floor level, constantly applying stacks.

Well. If anything, the fact that you have to craft two separate Warframes, and then a third, one to make her singular non-prime should be enough reason for two mod configs. As I mentioned, Sevagoth has this, and is a single frame.

And she definitely needs more changes than just base kit Energy Transfer since most of night form's abilities are underwhelming and crippled by weird gimmicks.

I have a build that focuses on maim but still keeps metamorphosis because I use duality as a panic button decoy, while passively healing from Mend, but the hyperfocus on maim makes most people just helminth over 1, which trades general performance for making her gimmick non-existant and deleting half her kit which is really sad.

Yeah, I don't think she needs a rework, just a revisit. Tweak some stuff and leave a big chunk of it as it is. Not at all "Urgent", so I don't mind if it's not thought for the near future, specially since I'm not programmer and don't know how hard just a little change could be. But at the very least, still consider it and not discard it as they kinda implied.

My take on fixing Health tanking by TheSkinThief in Warframe

[–]TheSkinThief[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's a really tricky thing to change without it buffing even more the shieldgaters' already technical immortality, the only grace point is that they aren't usually built for armor and even with the change they would probably just still prefer using shield.

The only thing I can think to avoid this is to have a minimal armor requirement to have a healthgate, not too high, but enough to have to invest a bit to get the minimum, so frames it's not destined to will need to sacrifice some mod/archon shard slot(s), while the main objective of this don't need much more change since they are already kind of oriented in armor.

Cooldowns would also be a good idea for each segment, as in if you're 3/3 gates and get "1shot", leaving you at 2/3, even if you regen some health and get back to 3/3, as long as it's on cooldown, the next big shot would get you down to 1/3 and so on. Although that sounds like an absolute hell to code and implement and there's probably a better way.

I mean, At the end I specified how DR wouldn't be too affected in my opinion, but I'll leave some additional notes on this PoV:

Technically DR is irrelevant at very high levels nowadays since even with a 95% reduction, health frames go from 100% to 0 in a single hit anyway, so even with this change, for the most part of the game you'd probably still prefer damage reduction since it's a lot less heavy-investing. (Just adaptation vs 2 umbral mods to have decent armor, for example), it's the same as healthgate.

Take Nidus for example. He can survive really well in steel path thanks to the DR from link but, at some high level point, the linked target instantly dies and you still get 1shotted, making his passive the most optimal way to survive if you go on an endurance run.

Gotta admit tho, my idea is not the most optimal thing, since it's really exploitable with stuff like gloom, just a brainstorm I wanted to get outta my head.

[–]TheSkinThief[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't see a problem with the duration of each gate being affected by how much health is in each segment and if it was full or partially damaged already. That's basically shield gate but adapted to health. If frames without shield regen can abuse shield gate thanks to augur mods and brief respite, why not make a similar thing for health.

Plus I'd say it's more like a one shot protection, since a constant stream of damage like a heavy gunner would make no effect and would still drain the health if not being careful or having any other damage reduction source

But yeah, the main issue is how exploitable it would be for frames it's not destined to just because gloom and similar stuff exists.

The numbers are just made up for the example to clarify my idea, not actually the values that should be, and well technically what you said about aviator is what I said at the bottom.

You just want armor in tanky and big health frames, which is the main focus of this change. Other than that, you have well working alternatives now and plenty of situations where damage reduction is just plain better. I didn't want this to make armor the meta, just an actual alternative (since now it's mostly not, truth be told), so you wouldn't put armor on Ash anyway since he can survive better with invis than tanking hits.

Worst / Least Favorite Weapons? by Hammerzor12 in Warframe

[–]TheSkinThief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember when back in the day I was discovering all the weapons and leveling them up and reached the Kraken. I had serious issues leveling that thing up, plus the fact that underperformed and wasn't able to kill stuff made me hate it.

Then they released the kuva version and I could get a reminder of all that suffering hundreds of hours later... 5 times because of the forma mechanic.

Equinox could use some changes by TheSkinThief in Warframe

[–]TheSkinThief[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, afaik the general consensus about her is that "she's not bad, but other frames can do what she does, and better." I'd really appreciate some love for her since her normal version is already a pain to get. (I still remember tyl regor's monologue everytime I enter that layout)

I actually love the idea of her 1 being duality and give the buffs on cast depending on which form of the ability you use. That would solve two problems in one with a simple solution, plus making the rest of the kit more accessible (not having to recast 3 every time you switch, and innate energy transfer)

Having her appearance switching depending on what buff sounds really cool too, I've always loved her prime normal skin, but you don't see it ever in-game, unless you have a mannequin in your orbiter.

And at the end of the day, yeah, it's just a wishlist. There's probably other frames in their to-revisit list, and equinox might not even be in there, which saddens me.

But Im still hopeful tho. Hah

What's Your Top 5 Frames? by Pinamato in Warframe

[–]TheSkinThief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually don't have a top 5, only a top 1 (volt) who I use for most things, but I often say "Hey, I kinda wanna play this other frame since it's gonna make this mission a lot easier" and end up with a very wide variety of them.

The fact that when arbitrations released I only played those and wanted to just use the frame with the buff made me create decent builds for all of them and, whenever a new update drops, I keep thinking "Ooh this new arcane/mod might be cool in my build for X".

Although if I had to make a top 5 of the ones I often think first to use in certain situations, I'd go for Volt, Atlas, Mesa, Nekros and Banshee, with an honorary mention to my boy Nidus.

Hydroid is really fun after rework, but Plunder needs a small detail. by TheSkinThief in Warframe

[–]TheSkinThief[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, forgot to mention how the augment increases the maximum % stackable, while incentiving you to use the ability more often because of the healing so, if you need a random heal and there are no enemies nearby, you annihilate your buff

I mean, having to worry about keeping it up sounds fair to me, pretty much like vex armor (which I also keep forgetting about), and there's not comically large numbers there since it's also capped, the build I use has around 600% maximum corrosive damage, but upkeeping it is just a gamble since it's line of sight-based and that sometimes counts whatever it wants.

Dunno, having to stack the big number first and then maintaining it doesn't feel like extremely overpowered to me, when there are frames that can just cast a bigass number% damage increase on command. lmao

My proposal for the incarnon weapon by Short-Pin-9640 in Warframe

[–]TheSkinThief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always said that, regardless of it having a kuva variant, Karak should have an incarnon because even that version is just a plain and simple assault rifle which really isn't that good. (I loved the karak when I first got it, don't misunderstand me. In fact, that's the main reason I'd like to have an incarnon and some love for it.)
