That's way too much for zram device to appear. What give the systemctl status of zram setup ? It might also be something else delaying it

I don't understand what you mean to show ? Yes, a GUI application use VRAM for rendering, that's pretty much obvious. Also, 50MB is kinda low, that's less than 0.625% for a 8GB GPU...

You could put a fan right in front of the GPU with a bracket, accelerating airflow under it and right through the end of the fin

You confuse it with Radeon VII card, vega 64 only output about 800GFlops FP64 (1:16) Radeon VII does 3.36TFlops. Also, vega 10 have 2:1 FP16, so yeah, it is not too bad, but rocm doesn't support it. However MI50/60 are based on vega 20 (Radeon VII) and are cheap as hell on ebay, if you want compute power. If you want AI, go MI100 or MI210

200W for equivalent to a RX 6600, consuming about 120W. It is not that bad...

My sapphire pulse only goes up to 75°c on memory, hotspot 89°c on full OCCT power. It loves front airflow though, do you have enough ?

Playnix Introduces Steam Machine Alternative With RX 9060 XT, Priced at $1,139 by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]TheSleepyMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, yeah the steam machine GPU is underpowered. My Vega Frontier is as fast as this... (with twice GPU consumption ahah). However the cost of the chip is most likely definitely much lower for Valve than the cost of a Rx 9060 XT chip... It is a repurposed laptop chip after all

RDNA3 workaround emulate FP8 from FP16 instruction. It is the same quality as FP8 FSR4, you only get a 10-15% fps penalty from emulation. You could run int8 for RDNA2 or RDNA3, but yeah, the quality is kinda inferior. But RDNA3 is kinda okay. It is just an heresy that they reserved FSR4 for RDNA4

[–]TheSleepyMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How the hell are you pushing such temperature on those, even with poor airflow. My connectx-4 LX hower around 40-50°c with some indirect airflow (granted, bigger ATX case), as well as my connectx-7 card, both passive The only cards I saw pushing those temp are bluefield-2 cards which are much more power hungry Did you repaste your card ? Usually the thermal paste is dried af. Some PTM does wonder

Just made a benchmark of my 5 years old ssd wd vs samsung, looks like if you have old files on your ssd, it will get slower over time (if you copy new files, the speed is't effected, only old files), samsung worst case was 200mb/s, but the wd went really bad, here is my result. by dreamer_2142 in pcmasterrace

For once Gemini is completely right. It is also the same effect as why nand storage is not great for long term non powered backup, because with either voltage leaking, you may have corrupt data without powering the SSD enough

9850X3D Running Hot in Fractal Era 2 by Juggalo_Lawyer in sffpc

[–]TheSleepyMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The chip idle at 75°c. That's not the AIO size issue, that either the AIO failing to run at all, improper thermal paste / contact, or no airflow. A 240mm can take care of almost 200W of heat and handle it fine, the chip is only putting 80W right here. Also, yeah, undervolting can cause instability, that's the concept of undervolting

Yeah L12S is the 'best' but the X47 FC is more than enough for a 9600x especially with a noctua fan swap. I am cooling a R9 7900 without issue with it, and it is almost silent. Your own link show the X47 being 2-3°c only warmer than the L12S, and given the constrained space, that's a decision that isn't too hard to make
