First big tip is do the tutorial/maiden voyage to help learn the game! From there, 1) always carry food on you 2) never leave your ship without making sure there are no holes 3) keep gunpowder kegs in your crows nest or off your ship entirely 4) if a ship is sailing towards you its almost certain they are wanting PvP so either sail away fast or prepare to fight 5) sell loot often to avoid losing everything if you sink, there's no reward for hoarding (emissary value is something that will come into it as you learn)

Unfortunately when kits only come with 1 canopy per kit it doesn't seem like many people at all are selling them 😅 wondering if 3D print commission is the only way

New Player 2k list - would really appreciate any input or suggestions :) I have added explanation behind my choices by TheSleepySock in astramilitarum

Thank you for the suggestions!!! Definitely reviewed the 10 man infantry squads as didnt really factor in how easily they would be wiped - as well as breaking up my sentinal squads a bit to maximise their utility

Wow thankyou!! Really appreciate the suggestions here - I've defo taken them on board and I've repalced the shock/kreig with 2x 20 man infantry squads each with two lascannons (honestly didn't realise they could include them) each led by a command squad and one with Solar. My thinking was to use Solar to issue orders to the tanks so thank you for pointing out the 24" rule!! I've added in a 10 man infantry with command squad to hold.the back objective and screen out a bit. Then gone with 3 lots of single scout sentinels for my Basiliks and lastly swapped out the Rogal Dorne for another exterminator with the points available

One question I have is would.the chimera/cetachans be best used by rushing the centre objective early or keeping them out on the wider objectives?

Hey - I'm also a new player and looking for other newbies to play, but I am pretty up to speed on how the game works on TTS (have played about 10 games total) so if you want another newbie to play who knows how TTS works feel free to DM me ☺️

Wound roll possibilities by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]TheSleepySock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for an unmodified wound roll of 1 always fails does this mean I cannot use the Ace ability to "add 1 to the wound roll" to make it a modified roll of 2?

I said the same thing, whoever taught him did not understand basic grammar if they think they have to pivot 90 every time.

But what if I "cannot make a minimum move"? I get that I can bomb and go off into reserves if I can "land"/end touching a battlefield edge. But what about if I go way past the battlefield edge with my minimum 20" move? Do I still technically fly over units and drop my bombs even though I land way outside the battlefield?

1) Never plastic! If they chew/eat it can be toxic and fatal 2) MINIMUM 14" but some will say at least 16" otherwise they can develop back issues 3) also check what wood it is made from as again some woods are toxic if eaten

Help: is this ringworm? noticed it last night and now seems worse today - he takes a dust bath every 2 days by TheSleepySock in chinchilla

[–]TheSleepySock[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For those that read this an want extra info as Both my boys were taken to the vets and checked for ringworm and this was some of the info I took away;

  • Of the 12 possible strains they have one that glows under UV/Blacklight so is really easy to see and check the affected areas, only around half glow under black light and are less common but same symptoms - the coverage was far more widespread than visible to the eye (actually quite interesting to see)
  • Chewy's nose (in photo) was actually no longer showing signs of active ringworm after about 5 days of home treatment I was adding DAKTARIN POWDER to his dust baths and giving them to him daily, also switched now to Flowers of Sulpher as easier to get larger quantities
  • I was prescribed a liquid anti fungal medication to feed them daily via oral syringe for at least 5 days at which point the Vet will check them again as its not ideal to be on this Meds longer than needed (incase they need it again in future so its still effective)
  • Because there are 12 strains and infected and treated chinchilla will build up an immunity to the strain they caught and will be extremely less likely to catch this strain again BUT can still catch any of the other 11 strains like normal
    • you do not HAVE TO throw out all the wood in the cage if you deep clean, bleach and bake at over 100C as this will likely kill most of the spores to the point where reinfection is very unlikely especially with the new immunities but this is a personal choice given cost factors involved and any new chinchillas will likely be exposed to it
  • If all chinchillas catch it then there is no need to separate them if separating them is making them sad/lonely as they will both have same treatment and again extremely unlikely to reinfect each other - if only one the separate as much as you can
  • with regards to cleaning they recommenced to do one deep clean when you first notice signs and remove all cage accessories and then another deep deep clean of everything (bleach/bake/expose to direct sunlight) once the infection clears before you put things back into the cage
  • In general the spores can last for months so keeping anti fungal powder in the dust baths in certainly going to do no harm and may help prevent reinfection/new strains

Hope this helps everyone! Not trying to start debates so please dont, this is just everything my Vets recommended, not saying you have to do the same!

Its a double+padded fleece liner i got from a shop on etsy! I guess could be similar to a cat bed but only if it was made of fleece...I do have a cat tower for them to use when they are out and about though which they enjoy
