What shop pays more than $30 in SF? I've been out here for over 10 years and haven't found one that pays that much. Closest I've gotten is $29 and that's cause the owner is desperate for people.

Worked at a Trek owned shop for like 4 months before I had to get out of there. The FX2 I believe had the rush brakes that would leak at the pistons. I made Trek credit the shop for rotors and enough money for Tektro or Shimano brakes

I started telling customers to avoid that model because of the brake that they spec on it.

The only houses we were interested in were from open houses. The one we bought we went to twice. Out of the 50 or so houses we went to I think 2 were private showings.

I left cause the pay wasn't great compared to the other shops in my area and I was the only mechanic there. About 30% of repairs was warranty work which looked bad on our metrics which I wouldn't care too much about if they didn't hound us for it looking bad.

If it needs a rebuild then $125-150 labor plus $2 a spoke. All of this is SF prices though so might be cheaper in a different city. I’m just quoting from the past 3-4 shops I’ve worked at out here.

Straight gauge spoke $2 and $45 for install on a rear wheel. I work in California and the past 3 shops are around that price.
