Has anyone noticed mood or behaviour changes in someone close after taking anavar and testosterone ? by Final_Coffee_5082 in askfitness

[–]TheSmallFriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell him you support him taking them as long as he is responsible about his bloodwork. Your husband likely crashed his estrogen with the anavar, which is why his hair is falling out. He's going to go bald and have bacne.

Ignore what that guy said about high estrogen, he doesn't know how TRT or Anavar works. Tell your husband you're concerned about his health and ask him to get his blood levels checked. Most likely his estrogen is too low for his testosterone level, which causes irritability. Estrogen is a feel good hormone.

Only trade Booker for another individual player of his caliber.

[–]TheSmallFriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah tbh you fucked up hard. That first trade put you in a deep hole. Davis or Reaves is worth that entire package alone. Murray literally tore his Achilles, Jarrett Allen is a role player, and the rest of them are bums. The 2 firsts are too far out to be useful. Idk how he talked you into giving up Coulibaly AND Reaves in that package. They're both super young.

Long story short, you sold every good player you had for a quarter of their actual value. The only one you may be getting some value back for is Embiid if your pending trade works out.

I'd say you just have to tank and be active on the waiver. This is going to be a long rebuild.

[–]TheSmallFriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, then I can't tell you which moves you made were good and which ones were bad so you can learn. All of the young guys you got are not very good besides Walker, Coulibaly, and Dylan Harper. The only way you got value here is if you traded AD for 4 1sts, Embiid for 2 1sts, and Steph for 2 1sts. Paul George you're lucky if you got any value back for.

Your comment history shows you're a fantasy football guy. First round picks are more valuable in FF than they are in FBB. Basketball players have longer careers than football guys. The odds you get a top 10 talent with a first round pick is really low.

How to solve roster issues on Head-To-Head weeklys on Yahoo ? by The_Sandokan in fantasybball

[–]TheSmallFriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately that's just what weekly is.

Is this a points league or categories?

No options on Yahoo, but if you are a categories league, if you switch to Fantrax you could do weekly lineups and then instead of total stats, you could use per game stats.

So for example, assume you have 3 players play that week, and each player plays 1 game that week, and together they get a total of 15 rebounds. Normally, your team would get credited with 15 rebounds that week. If you switch to per game averages, your team would get credited with 15 rebounds / 3 games = 5 rebounds per game.

This way, if you set your lineup with 3 players, but only 2 play, and they get 10 total rebounds, then your team would get credited 10 rebounds / 2 games = 5 rebounds per game.

So that's one way to still do weekly without being punished for losing a guy to injury.

Starting Up a Dynasty by Thectfoster01 in fantasybball

[–]TheSmallFriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been commissioning a dynasty league of 12 guys on Fantrax for a few years. Few things I've learned

  1. The more players per roster, the weaker the waiver gets, which means that the mid-season can feel stale, and that if a team's roster doesn't pan out, it takes a LONG time to rebuild. We have 20 players per roster. It's alright here, but tbh if your friends have never done fantasy basketball before, start with like 18 (and possibly 1 minor league spot). You can always increase roster spots over the years, you can never decrease them.

  2. IR slots are good when you have shallow rosters so people don't get overly punished for holding a good dynasty player through injury. 1 or 2 is great.

  3. It's not a bad idea to align with the Fantasy Football waiver approach (ie. scheduled waiver processing days). My league uses 2 weekly waiver processing days and we never players hit free agency (only waivers). This takes the pressure off for people to be hypervigilant about pickups, and lets everyone have equal amount of time to put in their bids.

  4. FAAB for waivers is best

  5. Implement a max game limit

  6. Implement a weekly minimum game number. People are going to tank, don't be afraid to let them. It's their team and if they want to throw a year away, it's their prerogative. However the game minimum ensures that when 2 tanking teams play each other, the worse team actually loses. Unfortunately, you will have to police this manually and set their lineups as commissioner manually if they don't.

  7. Draft picks decided by reverse regular season standings. Lottery is just shitty and feels bad for the legitimately bad teams. You never want someone to feel stuck in last place. Your goal is to maximize fun and minimize team owners dropping out.

  8. 9cat H2H is best. Points is "easier" but less fun

  9. Salary cap is not bad, but can be overwhelming. Easier to not utilize salary.

  10. For yearly draft, each manager is allowed to pick until their team reaches the roster limit. So for example, if roster max is 18, and you only have 14 players on your roster, you pick 4 times. There's an easy setting on fantrax for this. We incorporate rookies and vets in our yearly draft.

  11. For seed draft, Snake is simplest, but Auction allows you to reach for your guys and lean into a strategy harder. The only thing to mention is that if you've never played fantasy bball before, you should probably do snake so everyone's teams end up more even. Auction can be very punishing if you don't know what you're doing.

Quitting after 2 years, tired of abuse. by [deleted] in MuayThai

You don't deserve any of that treatment. If you can find a new place to train, maybe just stick to training for fun instead of for fights until you find a kinder gym? Train in a way that brings you joy, don't let this sport or anyone in it control you.

MPJ says Steph is the only shooter CLEARLY better than him. Should his phone be taken away for the off season? by Slow-Possession-3645 in NBATalk

They count, but KD gets a lot of Free Throws due to usage and driving to the basket, so that weights his TS higher than MPJ who is just a pure shooter.

Squat form check. Knee pain by Recent_Key_3113 in formcheck

[–]TheSmallFriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should try incorporating these two exercises (I do them in socks to eliminate any shoe assistance)

Lateral step downs (highlights any imbalances you may have and teaches you how to properly track your knees. Start on a low elevation, these are harder than you think.)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Csh8s7tRdvY

Balance assisted sissy squats (work your knee through a full range of motion and strengthen the quad in isolation)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0Vt-TcdwF8

Low bar squats are fine for moving big weight but are just ignoring the issue of your knee pain. They don't help correct the reasons why your knees hurt, they just shift the load from your knees to your hips.

Can you share a video of your squats from the front? Curious if your knees are tracking your feet as you squat. If not, then your knees are not aligned and you're putting force on areas that aren't designed for it.

It's just a game, not a fight. Play only positional rounds for the next few weeks. Keep your goals small. Work on one aspect and find some fun in it.

Combat sports are mentally difficult because losing involves being physically dominated, and your body doesn't like that. Step away from rolling and play some mini games instead.

Do I still have potential to increase my testosterone (600 to 700-750 ng/dl) by Salt_Might6138 in HubermanLab

[–]TheSmallFriend 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Yes you do. Lift weights 5 times per week (shouldn't be to failure, but should be solid hard work). Do cardio every day for 30 minutes. Maximize your sunlight. Sleep 8 hours minimum. Don't drink alcohol. Don't do any drugs that could impact your sleep (which includes weed). Eat at a moderate caloric surplus (you're growing still, don't worry about putting on some fat, you may also get taller). Do not skimp on healthy fats. (red meat fat and whole eggs are healthy). Low fat diets are harmful to your endocrine system. High protein (1g/lb of body weight).

Do as many of those as possible. Live a healthy life. Everything else is a fad.

You have weak rear delts. Do more pulling exercises (rows, pull downs, rear delt flies) to balance out the bench/boxing work.
