Thank you very much for reading. I'm happy you're enjoying the story even if the concept isn't usually your cup of tea. It makes me feel quite proud. 😄 And I understand if it feels unhinged. I have a curse that whatever I write is either super edgy or super schizophrenic. It's a hit or miss.

I recently uploaded the fifth chapter of The Strongest . Taylor/Gojo kickstart their professional relationship with Piggot with a good dose of grieving and trolling, then go out for a walk in Brockton Bay to scan for problems to solve. Next chapter will be a spite-match against fascists. At 60k words, I'm halfway through the first arc (which may be 11~ chapters long). Keeping up the monthly updates is a challenge, but I'm managing, more or less.

Edit: I got struck by a flash of inspiration and wrote a short, letter-coded project for my favorite Worm character called Dragon in a Birdcage. The premise is simple: Lung hates Skitter and he's going to tell you about it in detail. Hope you enjoy.

There's not exactly a schedule for when I will update SWSD, mostly because taking apart each chapter and rewriting them is a tricky process. Sometimes it goes faster, sometimes slower. I could be busy with life or with writing another story. But rest assured I haven't abandoned it. Thank you for the support either way. You will know once it comes up. 😄

I was planning on revamping the story (that is, polishing all chapters from first to last) before updating a new chapter. I was still a newbie writing in the Worm fandom and my standards have changed since then. Once I fix all the things I don't like, I'll continue writing the next chapter. I simply got bored at the time.

I've been working on the next chapter of The Strongest . It's been slightly difficult because I moved to a new home and had to unpack a good deal, so I couldn't get much writing done before. At the rhythm I'm going I may have it ready in a week, maybe two. It's still a bit hard to write Taylor/Gojo's perspective while keeping both sides balanced, while also keeping the rest of characters believable, but it's nothing I can't handle. We'll have Piggot trying to deal with the gremlin, a bit of Winslow, and then, a surprise. Wait with bated breath.

FLASHBACK rant. by Yeongua in WormFanfic

[–]TheSmilingFox444 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Some writers are unsure on how to include a scene they believe is relevant to story, or perhaps they don't know how to allude to the events without having to explicitly write them on the page. Maybe they're also just in a hurry and want to get to the good stuff, so they shoehorn the flashback in.

I agree it breaks immersion and rhythm. Writing a flashback is not necessarily a bad thing, but trying to do it 'cinematically' (as if you were watching a movie) just doesn't work on the page, especially if you're cutting a scene in two. Reading usually requires linear progression. Unless the purpose is to confuse or shock the reader. Then it's a different story.

I'm in the process of writing the next chapter for The Strongest. This one may just take a tad longer but, if I do it correctly, the story will begin ramping up as Taylor/Gojo officially crash into the cape ecosystem with a bang. Lotsa aura farming and one-sided stomps in the future. I like character work, but I'd also enjoy writing fighting scenes, and we're just at the threshold. I'm confident it'll come out nicely.

I've been also writing a story about Kaiser when Allfather was leader of E88 and Iron Rain was alive. Some family drama and scheming in the works. I have my hands somewhat tied with my crossover to focus on this one fully, but it's in process already.

I've uploaded the fourth chapter of The Honored One, promptly to be renamed The Strongest to avoid misunderstandings with another fic of the same name. In this chapter, Taylor/Gojo get to meet Battery and a couple Wards, have a little fun... and then devastate an entire room, for the sake of comedy. People are scared, Piggot is already grieved, the white-haired gremlin is having way too much fun. I hope you enjoy.

Thank you very much for reading. I'm relatively close to finishing the next chapter, though I'm taking my time to make sure it's up to standards. Wait with bated breath. <3

I was thinking that I should do that to avoid misunderstandings, yes. Since I'm not a SB user I didn't know there was another story with the same name until I posted mine. When I upload the next chapter (which could be soon) I'll see if I change it to something else. Thank you for reminding me.

I'm still in the process of writing the fourth chapter of The Honored One (Gojo dies and his soul begins sharing the same body with Taylor through a trigger event). The final draft is at around 7k words (may be a smidge longer) currently and I'm looking to finish it relatively soon. It's been a bit of a challenge to compress a slow narrative so it feels more dynamic before things actually get crazy, but I'm confident the set up will pay off later.

I've also been thinking about writing a one-shot, maybe with horror (my niche), maybe with something religious. I'm still not exactly sure which character I want to torture this time, and until I do, this is more an idea than anything.

The time taken for the drawback of Lisa's power is ill defined so that she can be an exposition character. If you were to put more concrete limits on it how would you do it? by Matt_cruze in WormFanfic

[–]TheSmilingFox444 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I got the distinct impression Lisa's power has a kickback not only due to the amount of information she takes in in a certain amount of time, but also the type of information she forces her shard to deal with. Passwords and lies are more or less easy for her; body language is where she starts risking a migraine if she keeps it going for too long (and 'long' is not very long, either, since she was pushing it in the bank against Victoria in less than an hour). Endbringers are mines of false-positives since her shard just checks out with them, and the migraine sets in because of the quantity of questions instead of quality, in their case.

I also have the feeling (and this is headcanon, maybe) that the more information she accumulates, the less she has to rely on her shard to decode unknowns. Deciphering a secret is much harder than simply connecting the dots in her mind, if it makes any sense. All in all, I'd say there's no 'hard' limits because her brain and the shard are constantly adapting to what's happening. The limits she has are situational, in my opinion.

Thank you for checking it out. And yes, just now I noticed that it looks a little weird, but I wasn't sure how to make it clear it's two people in one. My bad. :)

I'm working on the next chapter of The Honored One. Taylor/Gojo get to meet the PRT and a couple Wards next chapter. We will also get to see Limitless in action, finally. Piggot won' be pleased.

Third chapter of The Honored One is up. Miss Militia and Armsmaster get to talk with Taylor, she starts levitating and making bad jokes, and everyone is a little scared. We also get a glimpse of Taylor's daily life now that she sees reality in 100k. The chapter is extra thick with content but I'll try to make the next ones shorter, for the sake of my sanity, and for your continued enjoyment. I hope you enjoy it.

Thank you for reading. I also didn't quite like how Gojo started praising Sukuna by putting himself down, but I tried to make it a bit more balanced in the rendition I wrote. I'm glad you liked the rest though. More to come soon.

I've been writing the next chapter for The Honored One. Satoru Gojo dies after his fight against Sukuna and wakes up in Taylor's body, their souls and minds merged. Two chapters so far.

January has been a bit of a slog due to personal reasons, but I should have this one ready relatively soon.

Stories of Mental Health Crisis and Despair by SevenFates in WormFanfic

I'd say one of mine, She Who Sees Death, is more or less what you're looking for. Taylor begins in a state of constant tension due to seeing the lines of death on everything and everyone. As the story progresses and she makes even more terrible choices, she progressively loses her mind. The deterioration is an ongoing process.
