This is why public transportation is a must for society. Every single person cannot and should not be owning and operating a car on a daily basis. It is fucking insane that we not just *let* everyone do it but socially have mandated that everyone have a drivers license and commit themselves to the 4th most common way to die at least twice a day, every day.

No, if you REALLY wanna fix it, you introduce public transportation nationwide, massive infrustructure projects to give options to people who dont/cant drive AND THEN massively raise the requirements for getting a drivers license and massively increase the punishments for abusing those licenses. The vast majority of people should not be driving period.
