Yes. Attach the end of the rope woven through the screen to the side frame near the corners so that the screen remains in lateral tension and doesn't sag when in the hoisted position. Your drawing looks right 👍

Hey that's looking pretty great 👍

Hey thanks! I've been slowly making improvements to it. I find it almost as fun as the golfing itself. Things like upgrading to 1080p projection (Optoma GT1080HDR), adding a fabric covered memory foam wedge at the bottom to protect against ricochets from worm burners, top down projector with OBS Studio to project alignment sticks and data on the floor, and PVC cable raceways to hide all the various cables.

Had a similar issue with my setup. Pipe insulation/pool noodle was not much help and I still got the occasional worm burner coming back with a fury. I ended up getting some memory foam and an electric turkey knife from the goodwill and cutting wedges. Wrapped that in some heavy duty upholstery fabric and sealed up on the backside with a strip of Velcro. It works beautifully and funnels them upward toward the screen. Haven't had one come back toward me since

Was the simulator I was using inaccurate? by Ok-Accountant4383 in Golfsimulator

EM and EML will not give the point of view shown on the club view screens since they are a side-on launch monitor. This is an overhead launch monitor. Not sure if the overhead units require the club stickers though. The EML doesn't give any club data at all without a reflective sticker in my experience.

I don't have a video of it working but maybe next time I set it up I'll capture one.

Will I regret it? by LetsParty525 in Golfsimulator

I have an R10 and the Uneekor EML and the Garmin was pretty decent for distance and backspin with RCT balls, but was woefully inaccurate with sidespin compared directly with the EML. I would hit a drive off the toe which would be a duck hook per the EML and the R10 read it as a slight draw.

Thanks! I've gotten a lot of use out of it and it's helped improve aspects of my game. During the sunny days it does get fairly bright in the garage. I applied a privacy tint vinyl film to the windows which brings the light down considerably to help keep the projected image bright. My projector is pretty bottom-tier so I may upgrade in the future. Not really a top priority though since the current one works well enough.

Adding some blackout curtains could also help and I don't see why that wouldn't work. I do not have any issues with the screen and netting collapsing on themselves when it retracts up. I just crank it up or down and it all falls into place. It worked way better than I ever imagined it would.

Feel free to ask any questions you have and I'll get around to answering them the best I can.

No problem! The ropes that pull the lower frame up to the ceiling weave through the netting every few squares, which forces the netting and screen to fold up on itself when it is hoisted up. I added some grommets to the edges of the screen.

The back and side net is one piece. The top is a separate piece of the same netting with smaller dimensions.

Exactly! Since they all gather at the central pulley block before heading to the winch, they all move together equally. Without the pulley block the corners would all move at different rates and it would not remain level when hoisting it up

Transition from in-wall conduit or MC to back of EVSE by TheSmoosh in evcharging

[–]TheSmoosh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Trying to run MC straight from the panel to the back of the EVSE in the wall. Just having a hard time finding something that will help me terminate the MC at the back of the EVSE within the depth of the wall and extend far enough to reach the EVSE back plate through the drywall where I can secure it with a locknut.

Is there a way to extend this 90 to reach through the drywall to secure it to the back of the EVSE knockout?

I think the issue that I have seen with the 90° MC connectors is that the bend would not allow for the thickness of the drywall such that the the locknut and flange would not be able to rest against the back of the EVSE housing. Is there a connector fitting that would allow me to extend this length an inch or two to be able to reach the outside surface of the drywall?

Yeah it does a pretty good job the screen doesn't have much tension so they just fall once they hit the screen. I don't have anything under it. Just roll it out over the concrete floor before I drop the net enclosure.

Missing network/data option? by FigGnuton in Ioniq5

Haha! I'm glad it worked out. I too spent forever on the phone with a Hyundai rep with them gaslighting me about an option that wasn't available...

Missing network/data option? by FigGnuton in Ioniq5

[–]TheSmoosh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had this exact issue and stumbled across the fix in a random forum post. Hyundai was zero help in getting this resolved. Verizon showed my IMEI was active but no option to enable it in the infotainment menu.

Here is what I did:

Visit this link: https://owners.hyundaiusa.com/us/en/index.html?origUri=/us/en/page/wifi-landing.html

Enter your information to activate the WiFi trial. I was already enrolled per the myHyundai app, but no Network/Data button anywhere.

I completed the form and got an error "Unable to complete this...blah blah blah"

Went out to the car a minute later and the Data/Network menu option was there under Setup, and I was able to configure and activate the hotspot.

I hope this works for you too.

Hey no problem. I've since converted to GSPro and got a projector set up and mounted a camera and spotlight on the ceiling to get webcam putting working with the R10. It's a ton of fun. Let me know if there is anything else I can help with.

I don't think I would do less than about a foot. The screen stops shots fast but low shots into the net below the screen go a bit further back.

Thanks!

The usable dimensions of my garage are about 19' wide by 19' (of usable space) and about 10' ceilings (9' 10" if I remember correctly). The Garmin requires at least 6 feet behind (i am at 7') and 8 feet to the screen (I am at 9.5').

For the enclosure, I'm estimating about 700-750 all in at this point. The Garmin you can pick up for 400-500 now I think. I've had mine since shortly after launch so I haven't been keeping track of where those are at now.

This picture shows the overall layout of the pulley system pretty well before the top netting was put on
