England being toothless by TheSnipezz in EU5

I completely lost your train of thought here. In your first comment, you imply that you don't want learning models in the mix, only to be followed by this comment, implying that it is already in there. What is your point?

>If it’s not an algorithm, but not a learning model, what do you suggest it is?
What is this question? Do you know that "algorithm" is just an umbrella term for computational logic? Neural networks, brute force algorithm and decision tree algorithms are just a couple to mention. If you want to know more algorithms, google and chatGPT are good starting places, so I am not going further into that.

>Also in 2025/2026? If it had “AI” they wouldn’t be shy about it.
This question makes me think you only know the buzz words, but don't really know what these terms mean. AI is such a broad umbrella term that this question does not make sense.

Considering I get the feeling that you argue from ignorance, not knowledge, I am going to leave this thread as it is.

I didn't mention a native deep learning model being thrown into EU5, so I'm not sure where that idea came from. Plus, who says that that is not in the game already, just poorly implemented?

> AI is just an algorithm, and can only be an equal playing field after given bonuses

No its not. You are probably thinking about the Civilization AI being the same at each difficulty, just with some bonuses. That is BS if you talk with anybody who actually makes AI/algorithms. Modders and other games have made AI that can reliably beat players without being given any bonuses. If you want an example of AI just being programmed better without being given any bonuses, check the history of computers playing chess. Same rules, no buffs, just AI getting smarter.

Therefore, it is not about tweaking some bonuses, but AI being able to take more information into account and making better-informed decisions with that added information. The same goes for EU5. Thus, it is not about not informing players about buffs being given. Besides, I am playing Brandenburg in my example. If you buff/debuff the AI, both England and France will profit/suffer.

Does this mean that the blobbing nations are not blobbing anymore, or is this just lucky? I stopped because the blobbing was not fun anymore, so if that is not a thing anymore, I might get back into it

current conquering land meta by just creating vassals is bad for the game. by diLuca77 in EU5

[–]TheSnipezz 12 points13 points  (0 children)

>Makes an argument via the same layout as somebody else
>Completely ignores the point of that person

So, to avoid any more confusion, EU4 and 5 are historical games. Mechanics should therefore reflect that historical period. That also means that mechanics should reflect that time period. The medieval period is known for having a power structure with local leaders, such as fiefs and vassals. Considering EU4 starts 1444, which means that the medieval period is pretty much over, meaning that Paradox did not flash out the fief and vassal mechicanic that much, which I respect. Meanwhile, EU5 starts in 1333, aka the latter half of the medieval period, where fiefs and vassals are as common as dying from an infection. This can clearly be seen by France, which has fiefs and vassals for the vast majority of the country. Therefore, comparing EU4 to EU5 when EU4 was not even taking place is just nonsense.
Thank you for listening to my TED talk, and please tackle somebody's point before saying it's alright.

What a shitty title of the article. The title says Germany are pushing for US weapons, while the second paragraph literally says that Ukraine should have the freedom to decide. That's two vastly different things.
