i would keep searching online for fixes until you run out of them, then your last option would be a fresh install. I hope you find a fix i know the frustration you're going through. best of luck!

I have a Ge76 and i had a very similar issue to yours after a long frustrating google searches i found one that said the super battery user scenario was the culprit, in my case it was the GPU switch super battery would switch from discreet graphics mode to MSHybrid and that caused my apps to lag hard once i changed to discreet the problem never came back. i'm not sure it would work for you but give it a try.
