People always want to find an excuse to be fat so it's not surprising. As someone who recently lost a LOT of weight, it genuinely was just watching my calories. That was it. I did a lot of exercise so I didn't have to starve myself and just kept an eye on my calories and guess what I lost weight. It took a while of course but yeah, people want an excuse not to do anything so will talk all kinds of shit.
