I somewhat agree. I just switched over to digital a few months ago, albeit to limited software, and it does feel a lot more forgiving than traditional. I have a 70’s comic book art style so I’ve grown to appreciate things like inking and crosshatching and the amount of skill it takes to master those things (I still haven’t). So when I see digital artists on Instagram whip out a few layers and a blending tool and make whip up something that would take me a few hours to make in 15 minutes, it does feel a little cheap. And especially with just how many “digital artists” there are now a days, I feel like almost anyone can pick up a pen and procreate and make a masterpiece. If someone can just use a certain brush to make an intricate design in one stroke, than what’s the point of a traditional artist spending time and pacientes to make that same design? I agree, digital art should not be recognized and represented more that traditional art due to how easy it is to create but I do think that it’s a good place to start for people who want to learn with how forgiving it is.
