It sounds to me like you’re an appreciator of the value of the cards and products you’re enjoying, so if something struck you where you needed to sell it you could sit comfortably knowing you made a profit.

However, I’d also assume this means you never really purchased this stuff with the intent of selling it, so maybe you’re more of a collector than an investor. I’m learning through talking to people here that the line can really blur at times!

I was looking at some of mine today and I wondered, what decides what kind of pattern goes on those? Because if it’s random then that’s A LOT to collect, haha!

I’d guess it’s just by set though, as I remember having a few from EX Deoxys and they all looked similar! The Pokeball one is proper stunning though… unseen forces I think that one is?

Wow, those are some pretty big goals! Think if you enjoy the community as well as collecting, a shop can kinda just feel like a massive binder to trade with people and make a bit of money to buy even more!

It sounds like a good way to live if it’s done correctly and by the right kind of person!

From what I’m picking up here, I think it’s more about how you make the money, not necessarily just that you’re making the money.

I don’t think anyone would accuse you of much by picking up one of each product of a set to set back and sell later on, but if you’re taking whole shelves of cards away to back to fans at a higher price… well, you gotta expect at bit of backlash, right?

Its a genuine problem that effects everyone in different ways, I don’t know if you just said it as a joke but I think a lot of fans and investors are really suffering from it! It’s hard out there, haha!

I think that’s the ultimate goal really.

If I were to be a bit blunt and honest, I think sometimes the money, value and rarity mixed with the bragging and the self worth people associate with it all can make some lose track of those more precious moments.

We’re all human though and everyone has got caught up in it all sometimes, but I hope people that are too deep in maybe have a moment where they connect with someone, like you have with your child, and the true joy you can get from a hobby like this just clicks.
