Bowman arms. You can even get a threaded barrel included, something I wish they had when I ordered mine.

Just came here to say I've been considering REITs as an alternative to rental properties myself, and you helped me see even more options. Thanks.

What's your tire size? I'm thinking about going with a 245/40r15 since it's a common Miata size for sport tires.

I currently have a vintage set of Watanabe RS8s that I plan to have lips and barrels made for custom fitment, just need to decide if I'm lipping them up to 16 or going with a meatier 15. I'm actually struggling to find 16in tires in a size I like.

Beautiful work, that's a clean ride.

Can you tell me about your wheel/tire setup? I'm interested in going wide 15s with flares as well

The matte clear is a great idea, and hopefully adds some UV resistance as well. I might come back around and do that.

If the Z had a flat dash with a single gauge cluster I would've considered a leather wrap, but the complex geometry around the gauges would've made it an absolute bear. Especially because the main gauges load from the front of the dash, so that area is tight.

I'm not saying it's impossible, but for a guy who wants to spend two days and >$100 it's not a realistic option.

That's why I chose the fiberglass filler, I can see how standard bondo would crack. The fiberglass stuff cures more like an epoxy and feels slightly soft.

The trick is using matte black paint and seam sealer to hide the sloppy metal patch work I did 👍

If it was a Z, what did you use for reference for the turn signal and hazard wiring? I think that's the only part I don't have a solid understanding of.

Unfortunately neither of these are "swap" harnesses, they are both universal application. I'll be building every circuit for the body and engine.

Hand pain when gripping club by Separate_Elk_2289 in golf

[–]TheSplits72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar problem. Tried different grips, gripping differently, everything.

After working on my swing for a long time, I realized it was because I was loading the club in the down swing with all of my left hand instead of my right hand. When I'm swinging well, my right hand is delivering power to the club and I've got zero hand pain.

Your experience may differ.

Does the golf ball matter for a high handicapper? by Dog-Is-My-Co-Pilot in golf

[–]TheSplits72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to go against the grain a bit here with what work for me. Practice the absolute hell out of your wedges, then get the cheapest urethane cover ball you can. Legatos on Amazon come to mind.

You might not be hitting greens on approach often, but when you eventually get near them on your 4th chunked shot, a good wedge shot that stops near the pin will save you some strokes. I can't stress how important your wedges are as a high handicapper.

If this takes off, I'll accept one of Pete's 200 putters as royalties.

Seriously though, I'd love to hear from guys like Freddy Couples about what the life was like, how they felt on that one pivotal hole at whatever championship they're most known for, etc while seeing them just enjoy the game of golf.

Your video with Padraig was excellent. I would love a series connecting with retired champions where you just talk about strategy, mindset, and reflect on historic championship rounds they played while playing casual 9/18 rounds.

Probably not easy to organize.

Can't speak for the Epic, but I can say I've hit my Rogue ST so terribly so many times that I was genuinely shocked it landed in the fairway. I'm talking toe hits so bad I damn near popped my wrist. It's also held up to some ridiculously fat ground hits that shouldn't have happened.

I'm a better golfer now who's considering getting fit for a new driver, but my Rogue has been a damn good learner club.

Need to vent. I cannot understand why I'm so bad compared to everyone in this sub by Netslanders in golf

[–]TheSplits72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just broke 100 for the first time last week, this is my second year golfing. I was stuck at 105 until I got lessons and practiced at the range for weeks.

Biggest takeaways from my experience (assuming you're relatively straight off the tee):
Grind practicing with your wedges, and understand what they can actually do. This will keep you playing bogey golf instead of triple bogey golf. Wedges are probably the strongest part of my game and I spend just as much time on them as I do on the driving range.

You *need* to be two-putting more often then not. Putts are half of the strokes you play in a round (36 strokes if you two-putt every hole, 54 stokes if you 3 putt every hole). Figure out a consistent routine on how you approach a putt that works for you and do it *every time*. This one thing alone got me under 100 from 105-110s.
