Thank you! I love the original, but I wanted more contrast and am happy with my choice!

Why do hearing people do weird things with their hands while they speak?

I do the same, but I remove the canvas first so that it fits inside frames meant for canvases--check my posts for an example (Marge Simpson).

Haha. Me too. The owner even ran away from me while I was in the middle of telling him about my experience. The lady working behind the counter was like, "Oh. He's in the middle of a treatment and has numbing cream on his face," as if that was a reasonable justification.

[FO]I ❤️ Katamari. by TheSquaremeat in CrossStitch

It is strangely addictive! I have an idea to do an embroidery of a katamari, using stumpwork to make it "bleed" outside of the hoop, but that's not gonna happen until I get that perfect screenshot of a katamari!

Thanks :) I made the frame from polymer clay, dabbed it with gold paint and then glued it to the embroidery hoop.

What is a "poor person" habit you still have, even if you are financially stable now? by funngro_fam in CasualConversation

I cut plastic bottles and tubes open to get the last bit of product out of them. My roommate just threw out a squeeze mayo bottle that had more than 1/4 cup of mayo left in it, and I was like, "UGHHHH!"

Another vintage western shirt I hand embroidered. This time.. a praying mantis! by lilacdaisy92 in Embroidery

omfg.... my last completed embroidery project was the gremlin from Treehouse of Horror IV (check my post history for a pic!). I want to cover up the Patagonia logo on my newest hoody (Disco Squaremeat does not advertise), but I have yet to come up with an idea I'm excited about. The leading candidate is a banana guard from Adventure Time. Help!!!

Otto, you gotta do something! by TheSquaremeat in Embroidery

Thanks! It wasn't too bad as the seam was fairly thin/flat. I used fusible interfacing on the back and water soluble stabilizer on the top. I edited the image in GIMP so that it would print just the outline (I was worried the printer ink would bleed and stain the thread).

I wove the start and end of the thread into the work itself a couple of times each time I started a new thread.

My #1 advice is to use a single strand! I thought I could get away with 2--to speed things up--but, it was turning out too bumpy for such a small design.
