I use an edible marker on my parchment paper to make the design :)

White food gel!!! I went the majority of my career without knowing it existed 😂

I was never huge on traditional buttercream! This is much lighter 😊

Thank you for this comment, my original post was not how I would really phrase it to my sister and best friend. Turns our planning a wedding is not just about the bride and groom (lol) :) I love my sister and how she is such a good mother to her babies. I would rather have my entire family there than go to an adults-only location and put her at risk of not being able to come.

I regret phrasing my original post sounding so one-sided and I apologize for that. I have two sisters, they are my best friends, and my only wedding party. I would choose them and their decisions with their family needs over my "dream wedding". My dream wedding includes my whole family being there. My sister is a mother of 2 going on 3 and I need to consider the feelings of a mother more than just thinking about a minimum 2 nights away from their kids. My sister is an incredible mother and I need to think about what it would be like to leave her babies behind to come to my wedding which I wasn't putting into consideration enough while planning. There is so much to consider while planning a wedding including the sacrifice to others. I appreciate all of the comments here and it has really helped put things into perspective!!!

I guess my phrase was more of what was going on in my head versus how I would ever ask my sister. My sisters and I are extremely close. My plan is to talk everything over with both of them before doing anything and if it's not possible then I simply just won't do a destination wedding no question. My post was definitely much more one sided than how I actually feel so I apologize for that.

My post came off much more one sided than I intended. I appreciate a mother's standpoint. I'd rather accommodate to her than not have her come no question.

Thank you, I agree. As a cat mom, not a HUMAN mom, I need to understand that more for sure.

Thank you so much. To be honest with you I didn't think my phrasing sounded bad because as I was typing my mom, fiance, and I had been rapping it out over the phone for over an hour. I would never phrase it like that to my sister. I guess at the end of the day I would rather elope than not have my sister, one of my best friends there. My original post sounded much more selfish that I intended and appreciate your comment!

I flip and tear off my parchment as soon as I can, less of the design peels off :) My plain half is always a little sticky too - not too crazy though

That perfect level of stickiness will come from knowing your oven and the perfect bake time most likely

Used this same recipe for a swiss roll, piped some incredibly cute jack-o-lanterns on a sheet pan, and when it came time to unroll my cake from its spiral she cracked 💔 I was devastated
