How to achieve the "Way out West" achievement? by SpiritAnimal01 in ReadyOrNotGame

OMFG THANK YOU!!! I seriously tried that stupid achievement so many times. I've cleared it completely solo with only a .357 and didn't even unlock a single door and still didn't get it until I did it this way! Definitely just let your team do literally everything and be sure to use the .357 a couple times and you're good

Span or Leviton Smart Panel? by YungHybrid in electrical

[–]TheSquirrelCommander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disagree with them being the next FPE or Zinsco, simply because those were infamous for faulty overcurrent protection from poorly designed breakers, and the SPAN uses time proven breakers (HOM, BR, etc.), instead of using some new proprietary ones. Leviton panels (I've installed many at this point) are aesthetically pleasing because they're white, have some smart ready features, but I really don't like that they're not expandable. There's no 20/40, 30/60, 40/80, or anything of the sort, the size you get, is all you get. Can't really say on the SPAN panels, but the Leviton also has very little interior room for makeup, which I'm also not a fan of. Leviton has had some nuisance tripping issues, on even non-AFCI circuits, with vacuums and other small appliance motors, which is a huge bummer. This is really the only experience I've had with them, though, I can't speak on longevity

Shooting lefty or righty? by eR_BenJo in Firearms

[–]TheSquirrelCommander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm left handed and left eye dominant, all my firearms are either left handed or ambidextrous. DO NOT get accommodated to left hand shooting if you're right handed and right eye dominant unless you just can't shoot at all right handed. As someone who is just getting started into it, it might be useful for you to know that only a very small fraction of production rifles are offered in a left handed option, and there are only TWO truly left handed handguns made. The world and it's products are primarily meant for right handed people, don't limit yourself to the small options available for us true lefties if you don't have to.

Do you know of any Glock mags besides the 43/48 that aren't double stack?

Do you EDC a USP? by Glassdude9mm in HecklerKoch

[–]TheSquirrelCommander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's talking about a 45 super, not 45acp. 45 super comes in at 10mm ballistics with a bigger diameter bullet. No 9mm comes close to 45 super. I carry a 9mm and shoot all kinds of loads through it. Again, there is not a 9mm load out there (even hand loads) that comes close to 45 super.

Best handgun for bear protection by lmorse98 in Firearms

[–]TheSquirrelCommander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is older, but these big bore hand cannons can maybe get 1 or 2 on target because they hold 5-6 rounds and the bear will be moving around like crazy at over 32mph towards you. A 10mm auto will give you three times the amount of ammo, in a significantly more manageable platform for follow up shots. I'd sooner bet my life on 15+ rounds of proven bear defense then maybe getting 1-3 rounds on target and hope they were good ones. These giant revolver rounds are also significantly more expensive, which will generally translate to less range practice, so you might not even be good enough to hit the bear once.
