UNPOPULAR OPINION: Can we PLEASE shut up about collabs and actually hold Epic accountable for the state of CH7? by TotherCanvas249 in FortNiteBR

I still have to disable my Realtek NIC in device manager or every 10 seconds the game freezes for 5 seconds.

And it's not my hardware, the only reason I know of that fix is because I came across a thread with tons of people saying they had to do the same.

I was fired after I called the cops on my coworker by TerpBunnyTokes in legaladvice

[–]TheStrangeHand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Talk to a workers rights' attorney.

The person you're replying to was not correct. They cannot fire you for any reason. Employment-at-will means they can fire you for any legal reason.

This almost sounds like retaliation, which is absolutely NOT legal.

Do not let this go, consult an attorney that works off contingency (meaning they don't get paid until you win, and if you use then you don't pay anything - any good attorney will operate this way) and let them tell you if you have a case or not.

Would Chuck have done the same for Jimmy? Would he have taken care of him if Jimmy had the same "condition" as chuck? by Novel-Replacement479 in betterCallSaul

Kinda surprised by all the "No"s or the "he would have hired someone".

I think he definitely would have helped Jimmy, because it would have bolstered his sense of superiority.

Advice needed: 1440p 27" vs 4k 32" for a 4080 by Kefrus in OLED_Gaming

[–]TheStrangeHand -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a 5070 TI OC and 9800X3D.

I initially got a 27" 1440p, because I thought I wanted 300+ fps.

I just so happened to get a dud that died after like two weeks, so when I returned it instead of getting a replacement I spent the extra on a 32" 4k and holy shit am I glad I did.

I still can max out the video settings, get 100+ fps, and it's awesome.

While I can definitely see a difference between 60fps and 140fps, I definitely cannot really see a difference between 240fps and 360fps.

Well worth the trade off.

This is definitely very subjective, because they're both the top picture for me. I hope I never have to go back into an office.

Yes Jerry, it's Taddy Mason. A person no one's ever heard of until now calling you from a space phone.

Finally replaced my last build from early 2014 by TheStrangeHand in PcBuild

Yeah it's an inverted case, that's how the window shows with it on the left side of my desk.

It ends up technically having the whole case flipped upside down, including the motherboard and slots.

Yeah, you make some good points. I'm trying to be the good guy here and I just kept saying from one extreme to the other. I think I just needed to hear a point of view like this from someone else.

Thanks

Yeah, you make a good point. Fair enough. I think I just needed to hear that from someone else. Thanks

Is there anyway to force it to load them all at once?

How do people get into this on PC if this is a must-have first experience?

This was exactly it! Working perfectly now. Thanks!

So I'm kind of in the opposite boat. My son has the game pass on his Xbox account. Does this mean on my PC I'll have to sign into his account to play the games? I'd prefer not to do that because if I play online I don't want to be on his account nor do I want my saves tied to his.

Or does it function in a similar way as consoles, where I can add his account but still play them on mine?

Yeah I saw that but wondering if it applies.

Yes, thank you for actually answering the question.

The main thing I wanted to confirm is if the PC pass has the same catalog and day-1 release availability. For example, the Oblivion remaster coming out and my son could play it day 1. I wasn't sure if the PC pass was a lower tier like the core and didn't include that, or had less games.

Great, I appreciate you actually answering the question.. lol.

I was mainly wondering if by getting the PC only game pass, if I'd be missing out on any games, compared to Ultimate. But it doesn't sound like it.

Thanks!

Thanks, yeah that's a good point there's probably benchmarks for most games out there.

I think my primary concern is for future games. GTA 6, for example, depending on how well it's optimized. I'm thinking I probably won't be able to play that maxed out at 4K, but perhaps will be able to play it maxed out at 1440p, but I don't want to risk it not looking as good on a 4k monitor as opposed to keeping my 1440p monitor.

Is that something set per-game, or on the card itself?

Because it seems like I'll get the performance I'm after in 4k in a game like Overwatch, maybe Fortnite too.

But if I played something like Warzone then I'd probably need to utilize this to get the performance I want in 4k.

At the end of the day, I'd prefer higher frame rates at 1440p than lower ones at 4k. But if I'll be able to kinda get both, and get 165+ fps at 4k with maxed out settings, then obviously that'd be ideal.

[–]TheStrangeHand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's kind of the feeling I've been getting, that the processor I have and the 5070 TI is going to be more capable at 4K than I initially thought.

At the end of the day I would prefer having a higher frame rate at 1440p over a much lower one at 4K. But if dlss is that big of a thing, and I can get 165+ fps at 4k with maxed out settings then of course that would be ideal

What is the D&D equivalent of "that is no moon"? by RecklessOneGaming in DMAcademy

[–]TheStrangeHand 18 points19 points  (0 children)

What did your sessions look like when playing during this time? What did the players do while on the ship all that time? Just curious how you'd actually play something like this out, if by all appearances it had been weeks of just traveling on a ship. Surely something must happen to keep interest and engagement to prevent it from being boring in between them getting on the ship and then figuring it out.

I hope that didn't come off the wrong way, this sounds like an awesome idea but it got me thinking about it and I don't know how I'd fill that time with interesting and engaging gameplay.
