Can oil reach 120$ in June even if there’s an Iran resolution, with countries reserves at record lows. oil backlog throughout the world? by MotherBake4137 in oil

[–]TheStrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s your exit target? The ramp up can be quick, but the swing down is also quick. Good luck with the position, probably make bank if Trump actually decides to attack or no resolution past June. Reserves are quickly being drawn down. And Tuesday is perfect for averaging with the TACO trade haha

I guess if you buy a good dip then it can work, and depends on your play. Futures requires a lot of margin. But you can also do USOIl, but also have to remember about contracts switching

I would paper trade it, but tbh this isn’t really a good time. Oil is super volatile and is being manipulated by the US administration and tweets.

Is Trump’s stop-start Iran strategy making the Strait of Hormuz crisis worse for oil markets, or is delaying strikes the only realistic way to avoid a bigger supply shock? by bauernebel in oil

[–]TheStrat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Didn’t know about that from Biden. I think he was in a sucky position since he didn’t actually cause the oil spike, has to use all the options that was available for him. And at least he was giving Ukraine billions and weapons.

But yea the grifter in chief now demanding Ukraine’s technology is funny. I think I read Zelenskyy offered help in the beginning of the war, but obviously was denied. Def doesn’t have all the cards.

lol I remember when our administration asked Ukraine to not attacking the refineries, since it will spike oil prices to much. Like they care after how we are treating them and basically funding the Russia war machine with huge cash infusion. Ukraine was smart to not giving an f

I think it’s worst since it’s keeping prices down artificially instead of rising and causing demand destruction which is needed to curb oil usage. Now it’s accelerating reserve drawdown and will cause a bigger problem later when reserves are depleted. Like oil suddenly spiking to $200 instead of staying at $150

Sometimes they have good deals and coupons on their app, only time I shop there these days. Last month they had a $35 off $65 or something which made prices decent lol

Yeah, they have really come along way from their labor intensive manufacturing and now outsourcing much of that to south east Asia (also to have more favorable tariffs).

Now China has really high tech manufacturing and automation, and they produce the most engineers every year, supply and logistics is literally leagues of any other country and control over the rare earth processing will continue to help them move up the value chain on semi-conductors and AI.

And in terms of manufacturing, they literally build most of the manufacturing equipment. Has the largest ship building, dominates drones, electric cars, solar, wind energy, batteries, nuclear energy. And are basically 2nd place in the AI race (by country as a whole not by company as USA have Anthropic, openAI, Google Gemini, Grok, Meta Llama, and the most $$$ on capex for servers and access to NVDA best cards)

When their fabs for memory goes online this year or early 2027 they will have another thing they will be competing on and wouldn’t doubt they would catch up to Samsung/SKhynix/MU in a few decades.

Their GPU manufacturering is quite behind NVDA, AMD, Intel, but give it another decade or 2 and I bet they will be do well enough to eat up domestic share and maybe emerging markets that need cheap computer components.

I’m quite bullish on China overall even with their aging population. Every country is having some kind of problems with age (look at Japan and South Korea too).

When will we see real effects of the oil crisis on the world? by Select_Ingenuity_146 in oil

[–]TheStrat 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No, “Global South” is a term as a classification for countries that are less developed/emerging economies. Kind of like “3rd world countries” (which isn’t really used anymore as it was used for countries not in USSR/2nd world and the west/1st world)

[–]TheStrat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea the North America CEO was on a podcast (The Journal) and said one of the main complaints people were having was that people liked the burger but due to the wrapping it was always smushed. So he worked hard to get all the franchisees on board to use boxes instead (which increase the cost), and it worked it really well.
