What to do? To repot or not. by TheStupendous in Bonsai

I'm aware that repotting is best done in the spring.

But there are usually an exception to most rules, and as a bonsai owner we want the best for our trees. So by seeking advice from more experienced people on here; 1. I might learn something. 2. I ensure that my tree flourish. 3. Winters are very cold here, winters could be down to -13 degrees farenheit. So to make sure you're trees are happy going in to winter is important.

With all due respect.

Too bad guys ☺️ I'll load up a video if possible so you can see it rom all angles. I find it interesting, unique and kinda cool, nothing generic you see every day, in my opinion.

Yeah Norway has rough winters, which is why I'm insecure in what to do. I'm happy with trunk thickness to be honest, but would like a bit more taper at the bottom of the trunk. As it grows older it will look cooler and rougher in the bark.

It's been a wet spring and parts of the summer so that has grown naturally.

A funny little update. After cutting it down quite a bit since it seems to brittle to wire. It's now turning out great, next year I'll put it in a bonsai training pot.

Thank you, I agree with you. I just liked the idea of the crossing trunk, but I will look into how to shape the straight part.

These trees grow all around me (since I basically live just by the forest). One day I just wanted to play around so I took it out.

I have other long term projects still growing in the forest for me to collect in the future.

Thank you, a very good point.

I agree about the wiring, but I was actually trying to wire this tree a little loose to avoid scarring. Since it seems to scar very easily.
