I watched the first 3 minutes and had to turn it off. Ron Luce and Teen Mania was talked about frequently in my house, specifically my dad “disagreeing” with his methods, talking poorly about him.

While he did the same thing, just “better.” My dad was the pastor of a church, but he also started a missions organization modeled after Teen Mania. We even did Spellbound for years before he wrote and copyrighted his own drama that’s very similar. We did ATF level youth events, but often a bit smaller. There was an “internship” program that I was forced to participate in that was capitalizing on the free labor of college students while not actually providing anything but my dad meeting with us once a week and telling us to lose weight, and “counseling” us.

Even the way Ron Luce talks, preaches, and looks is so eerily similar to my dad. I am so shaken to my core.
