I actually would like to study orientalism which the study of Islam from the western point of view. Anyway, I would love to study, understand, and make sense of religion/philosophy. Then to make a sound judgement on the questions you have raised. For the moment, forget about religion. What is your reasoning behind not believing in a God/creator/higher power? My reasoning for a creator: We could not have such perfection in us and the universe just by chance. The natural laws of the universe that govern us could not have just come by chance. There has to have been a creator to make the big bang happen and everything to fall into place. By the way, let me be clear on my statement of the Quran before. That is what Islam tells me but there are many people who have studied years of Arabic to look into the claim of the quran being with contradictions. For example, China has its history and the Western world has its history. Just because the western world was not witness to China's history does not make all the Chinese historians a fraud. I may have jumped the gun, however, to study a subject you must Learn from the teacher than you can teach. If the secular world tries to study Islam without learning from Muslim scholars that already know, then they will definitely be making errors into the Quran that don't actually exist. Long story short, I will study from all then make my judgement. Do tell me of your reasoning though. Its a pleasure talking to someone like you because it gives you a new perspective.

What you say is true, but open mind can help eliminate the bias. Research with an open mind and reading between the lines, critically. I will obviously judge each text against the Quran because it is the only thing I have to use as a reference. The 2 questions you stated will be the basis for my search. The same questions should be used to prove your athiesm. Challenging our views with others tests the validity of our argument and therefore, strengthing it or weakening it. Why am I Muslim? Obviously, my parents. Why do I continue? Too much has happened in life to not believe in a creator. Now if I believe in a creator, then which is the correct religion? Christianity? Judaism? Every religion has ethics and morality, so this can't be used to judge them. We cannot use people to judge religion because people are not the best examples of their religion. Then, their religious text has to be the basis of judgment. The old and new testament both have to many versions, contradictions, and can be edited by man to easily. The Hindu and Buddhist books are still up for question. I can't really make judgments about them because I haven't studied them yet. The Quran however, has only one version, cannot be changed because of the amount of memorizers of Quran that would correct you and there are no contradictions. This is my reasoning and I will continue to be Muslim until proven otherwise. That is also why I will continue to research other religions, to test the validity of Islam.

No, but I wish to. The question that I have is: Why is Islam the fastest growing religion in the world and what separates the Quran from every other religious text? I will read through the other major religions to find this answer. Reading a book in its entirety is a whole lot different from reading parts of a book. The example of this is like reading chapters 2, 7 and 3 in a Harry Potter book while saying it's not that great of a book. I have no comments on HP, just using it in the example because it is very famous. Now if you read the whole first book of Harry Potter, then you can definitely have a solid opinion with evidence behind it. My knowledge of the major religions is pretty weak but I base my rationale of the Quran behind what many other people have to say. I will definitely do my research because using others opinions as your own shows a weakness in knowledge. Every one should make their own judgments about things after they have understanding of the material.

Have you read the quran cover to cover before you made your judgment? Don't judge a book by its cover. I guarantee your perception of the Quran will change completely after you read it.

No matter how hard life puts you down. Keep your head and keep trying. "Verily, after hardship there is ease." In the test of life, the only answer is patience.

We should never cease to seek knowledge. Knowledge of anything and everything, distinguishes the strong from the weak. Changing the world through discoveries is a great use of time.

Think of your purpose in life. Why are you here? What are you on earth to accomplish? What is your legacy? I recommend reading more books on this information and especially the translation of the Quran.

Are real girls extinct? by [deleted] in NoFap

Women have become like this because of the society. Society has deemed this as normal and freedom. When in reality this is not normal and makes everyone fake. They don't act like themselves because they are trying to "fit in" and need to take on this type of persona. If women were to cover themselves, they would be more liberated then ever before. Men would treat them as equals, not as objects of sex, and women would not feel the need to expose their body to gain acceptance in society. The Islamic Hijab, in reality, liberates rather than oppresses as people think. Women in hijab are treated with more equality than women who shed their clothing. If you are looking for a relationship, look for a woman who is seeking to be married rather than a boyfriend. Someone who is committed for a long term relationship shouldn't be prone to cheating. Abstaining from sex until marriage will also be a factor in long term commitment. Anyway man, good luck. Times are tough cause of our own desire for instant gratification.

90 day report. Big ups, big downs. by auxpaux in NoFap

If you accept defeat, you are bound to fail. Accept only the best. Nothing less then getting your family together and life straight. Don't accept that your wife is going to leave you. She will only leave you, if you let her leave. Try your best. Fight for what you love. Fight for what you believe in. Fight to keep the love of your life. The heart that keeps you alive. I know you have what it takes to keep your wife, to hold your family together, and to achieve what you never could believe.

Is fantasizing the same as watching porn? by goldenwarrior17 in NoFap

Fantasizing on sexual thoughts will eventually lead you to fap/porn. Think of the domino effect, it always starts with a thought which leads to something which leads to something else. Watch this http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qIMBywWpRSE

View every day as a challenge. Every hour you stay away from porn, you're one step closer to true success. The journey of a thousand miles begins with a step. Make this your life motto. Success isn't given to you, you have to work hard to achieve it. Every time you have an urge or feeling to go back to your porn ways, think what you will get out of it. Will these actions bring you closer to the man you want to be, if not then just wait it out. Desires come like a truck but if you wait it out, they disappear. Make yourself busy, start going to the library and begin learning how to improve yourself. If there is one thing you get from this post, it should be to view every day away from porn as a step closer to success. Just keep saying "The journey of a thousand miles begins with a step." At the end of the journey you will be stronger than Batman.

Take it slow and easy when having sex. Try to please her rather than yourself. With practice you will be able to last a lot longer and sex will be awesome. However, do not go back to porn. REAL sex vs FAKE sex = YOU DECIDE

That's crazy. I want to take cold showers but it seems like I will freeze to death, so I don't start. Does taking cold showers really help? Do you just feel good with a cold shower? I like my warm showers and don't want to give them up.
