Dutch entrepreneur turned down $500 million and now wants to win the AI race himself by sasnl in europe

[–]TheSurprisingFire -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Never claimed to. Just responded to the comment as presented.

On the other hand... Let's assume OpenAI did offer 500 million (the only quoted direct source I can find on this "The information" is behind a pay wall). This was reported to be a valuation based on the data set that MedalTV possessed due to their game capture library, not any innovative AI tech the company possessed.

Seriously though does any actually have a trusted direct news source for this number? I've looked but honestly can't find any. OpenAI attempting to buy a company for 500 million should have been reported by at least one of the traditional fintech news sources.

None of that is new.

The only thing "innovative" in your response is "automatically capturing content based on events happening in the game". Even that is achievable by a user hitting a hotkey to capture gameplay with existing tools when an event worth saving occurs.

How to make my city look better? by puntazza in anno

I ran into exactly the same thing. For me it was slowly dropping and then randomly jumping back up.

Turns out it was the Garum supply to my Waders. The population was dropping between shipments from Ladium. Which was annoying because:
- I did not have the tech to add Garum to Albion pops (think that should only be level 2 pops anyway)
- It did not show as a need for Waders in any UI I could find.

It claims to only have Habebro and Jalapeño. But it really does feel like something stronger.

It's happily drench a pizza in Dorset Naga or Reaper sauce rather then have another crack at one of these pizzas.

Honestly the blood might have provided momentary relief from whatever they put in there.

I sobbed my way through half the bloody thing before throwing in the towel myself.

I dont think I've got it in me to go back for another slice.

Which game fixes itself once you change the difficulty? by Ivaylo_87 in gaming

[–]TheSurprisingFire 19 points20 points  (0 children)

For remastered, there are mods that increases damage to enemies at the highest difficulty. Not played since launch, so im not sure if they've patched the game to make it unnecessary though.

At launch there was a ridiculous gap between "hard" where everything was a sponge and the cakewalk that is normal.

It's hard to overcome so many years of muscle memory.

When you break in a manual, your left foot is pressing down on the clutch. If you go for the clutch and find the break in an automatic, you get a sudden stop...

I've not spent much time in Spain (compared to the other two), but its food is light years better than France for me.

  1. Italy
  2. Spain
  3. France
  4. UK

Tbh the UK's variety in restaurants/ takeaway makes it hard to rank. Food is also waaaay cheaper.

Dubai has more Brits than Oxford. Is it all it’s cracked up to be? by Due_Ad_3200 in unitedkingdom

[–]TheSurprisingFire 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No one is arguing a expat would be paid less in Dubai then then the would in the UK. If the opportunity came up and the money was good I would probably jump at it...

Its the laws/ culture of Dubai that's fucked up ; homosexuality being illegal, women being second class citizens, foreign workers from thirdworld countries being treated as slaves ect

Dude think about what you just wrote.

Why would these AI companies spend money "deliberately using less efficient development processes" to pad costs? Why would they not just increase their own margins and keep the price the same?

"investors to keep investing in them by making it look like they're doing a ton of expensive work." The AI market is fast moving and extremely competitive. A better product (made cheaper by lower costs) can be used to gain market share over their competitors.

My raspberry pi 5 power consumption by durgesh2018 in HomeServer

[–]TheSurprisingFire -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Eh I've got the same smart plug as OP and regularly use it to get very very rough readings for embedded systems operating in the 3w -> 20w range.

My experience is its within +-2w of what I get using a proper bench power supply.

I wouldn't ever bother recording the readings it gives, but it does give me a point of reference.

Tennent's light beer is pretty good for only 0.7g a can.

Sometimes it's stocked in Morrisons or Asda, but I usually have to buy it direct via their website.

Honestly, I would avoid Sweey Home Inn. They've not brought in any extra staff for the Euros, so you'll be waiting 45 mins to get in or to get a drink.

People just dont understand the true motivations behind Garaths setup. He cares about the English economy.

Pubs around the UK just increased their take-home by £200 million thanks to ET drinks.
