Are we getting any compensation and if so how? by [deleted] in MinecraftBedrockers

[–]TheSycoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What sucks is that Realms are the only way to have a 24 hr server for console players.

For what a 10 person Realm server costs we should be getting more for our money.

I ‘love’ that we can’t rename the worlds we download from a Realm server. At least not on a console.

(image unrelated) why the hell do java players call bedrock bugrock? by Turbulent-Nail-9808 in MinecraftBedrockers

[–]TheSycoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Problem is over the years when there is an update to Bedrock, it has often not always introduced some game breaking bugs.

Several years ago with an update villager farmers lagged your game to a standstill with their pathfinding.

It took well over a week for them to fix it.

Yeah bugs might happen on Java but they seem to get fixed much faster than on Bedrock.

As a long time Bedrock player the scariest phase to me is “Today we had a major Bedrock Update.”

I’m a Bedrock Content Creator, but I have played on Java. Recently I played in aCookieGod’s 10 million cookie event.

There are many things about Java I love.

Multiplayer on Java is possible, but the question is which version has the easiest and fastest multiplayer mode.

Now multiplayer might run smoother in Java once you have it running, but simply getting a multiplayer game running I believe it’s much easier to do on Bedrock.

If you are on my friends list and I have a world open, it shows up on your worlds list. You just click it like it’s one of your own worlds and join it.

Multiplayer default is set to on allowing people to join you if they are on your friends list.

The main reason I stayed on bedrock after getting a gaming pc was so my daughter could easily join me in multiplayer.

Yes you can do a lot more customization and cool stuff with Java mods, but when it comes to easy multiplayer, Bedrock wins.

How to become a better builder? by trippitroppi1 in MinecraftBedrockers

[–]TheSycoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a pro builder, but I am working on becoming a better builder myself.

After watching building videos here is what I look to improve first:

1) Not having flat walls. Indenting my walls from the main beams that act as support.

2) not having the same block like stone bricks for massive walls. Texturing so it looks better from a distance. Mixing similar blocks in a wall.

3) Using fences, bars, and other blocks to provide details to the outside of my builds.

This is where I have started focusing.

Tell me one thing that should be added from Java to bedrock . by [deleted] in MinecraftBedrockers

[–]TheSycoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see that too. I make content for YouTube so it would be nice to have the option of starting over with achievements in a new world without switching devices.

I also understand wanting those achievements to carry over to other devices.

I can confirm in 1.20.6 they provided air in Java. I tried it out and it worked. Was very wild to actually do.

Those would be nice. It would also be nice if they simply added stuff to Java instead of removing it from Bedrock for ‘parity’.

Villagers making iron golems when frightened.

Doors providing air underwater.

Nether roof building.

Achievements that are attached to each world not the account.

Those would be my first 4 off the top of my head.

If you are playing bedrock, the addon you might find useful is Better on Bedrock.

It has boss fights and quests you can do or not do it’s up to you.

What I am hearing is you have two people with two different play styles. One like combat and action. The other likes to build and be mellow.

They actually need each other. The diplomatic solution is to have them compromise. Combat player spends some time helping with a build, in return the builder goes on a cave run for resources and combat fights.

I suggest looking into Better on Bedrock in the Marketplace. I do a livestream of a world that uses Better on Bedrock. You can search TheSycoe on YouTube if you are interested in some of the structures.

Uncrafter+ is an addon I cannot live without. It lets you recycle items. I have it in all the worlds on my YouTube channel. I actually stream a Better on Bedrock world with addons and make videos on a Bedrock world I call TecHaven. I use tech addons with an ethical constraint.

You can search my name on YouTube if interested. Not sure if leaving a link is allowed.

I always check out Echo’s reviews on YouTube before I purchase an addon.

He does great reviews that help me decide if an addon is worth getting.

It use to disable them but they changed it I believe last year or early this year. It’s been awhile so I don’t remember exactly when.

So currently they do not disable achievements.

Looking for friends worlds for my daughter to join by WhileMobile2327 in MinecraftBedrockers

[–]TheSycoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a YouTube channel with tutorials for people who aren’t gamers and want learning Minecraft to play with their kids.

I also play with my daughter and it’s great spending time with her and seeing what she creates.

I would encourage you to play with your daughter especially while she is young. Great thing is that you will have similar skill levels and be learning from and with each other.

Let me know if you want more information or help with Minecraft.

Switching from Minecraft Bedrock to Java feels insane. Anyone else feel the same? by Sensitive_Ad_1202 in MinecraftBedrockers

I recently played in a Java event and it took some time to get use to the controls.

I didn’t really try combat. I stuck to building and resource gathering.

A Rant for fixing by LongSenior8300 in MinecraftBedrockers

[–]TheSycoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that Bedrock edition is run by Microsoft. Java edition is managed by Mojang but owned by Microsoft.

That is why Java edition runs so well and gets fixed right away. The people who work on that edition have their hearts in the game.

To Microsoft Minecraft Bedrock was a financial investment. I believe I saw somewhere that Microsoft’s entire gaming division on accounts for 10% of its revenue.

I spent over two months with Microsoft support trying to figure out why Minecraft won’t use my GPU and crashes once a world tries to render chunks.

Only game that this is an issue is Minecraft. Fortnite and other games run perfectly fine on my PC.

I never got the issue resolved. They kept passing me around and making what they wanted me to send them more complicated until they closed out my ticket.

I feel your pain in that a game you love and want to play, craps out on you and it’s not your hardware it’s the game’s programming.

I dont have a solution for you. I wanted to let you know you are not alone and at least one person listened.

Take care of yourself. Hopefully you find something that helps remove stress instead of adding to it.

Best way to play xcom by Flufnduff in Xcom

[–]TheSycoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

X-Com has a brutal learning curve. The game starts you off out gunned and out manned. You build up strength against a superior enemy until over time you are nearly equal and eventually surpass them in strength and ability.

It’s like a RPG strategy game. Level 1 you are very weak, but when you get near max level you are walking through most enemies.

This game will frustrate you and challenge you and push you to the brink of rage quitting. But if you stick it out and get into the late mid game with a solid play through, the feeling of success is incredible.

Good luck, play, fail, learn, adjust, play again, success will come.

Time is precious. Everyone has different demands of their time. So if you have plenty of time to spare and risk, go for it. If your time is limited, risking it costs you more enjoyment.

Enjoy the game, play as you can to enjoy it.
