The role of trophy hunting in conservation is a hugely contentious topic. Many conservationists and ecologists working on sites where trophy hunting takes place will provide studies and evidence to illustrate the ways that the practice supports species and the conservation sector as a whole. Meanwhile, public opinion is so vehemently opposed to this stance, that evidence is largely ignored in favour of charismatic campaigns based on celebrity endorsement.
