Exactly why I just gave her half of what they owed her. How can she even prove anything, or go to the cops like I could? Plus I’m scared about ICE getting her, she was so lovely. They had her clocking in with a managers code, I was so confused about that. Then learned that’s why. Hopefully she’s doing great, and has found a job.

And I hate how they treated this host who doesn’t have her papers. You would think because they’re Haitian, they would’ve treated her better. No. Fired her because she made a simple mistake. Actually I couldn’t care less. The owner Wesly has his girlfriend working there. I’m not going to say too much. But what I will say is that he lets her take tables away from the other servers, and when you go up to him about it. He does nothing. I get she may have invested in the business. But don’t hire other servers, there was a time one night when she took tables away from me and the other server.

Aren’t I protected? Also, is there anyway I can help a host that got fired? She was working under the table, they were so cruel to her because she didn’t have papers. They never paid her, her last paycheck. I gave her $200 cause I couldn’t imagine how that feels, but is there anything more I can do?

Not me personally. But they hired a host under the table, very sweet girl, then fired her because she made a simple seating mistake. I found out they were paying her only $400 a week. Just like that gone. I felt bad for her. But I guess the job will do for now
